Ben Stein simply tells it like it is. I 100% agree with this film, Ben Stein you rock. Thanks for sticking up for common sence, and just being a decent human being. I have expeirenced that most evolutionists do treat anyone who beleives differntly like and idiot. 5/5

feebster clearly did not watch this. Benstein never insults anyone he just says evolution is a theorey and people should not act like it's fact.

The movie bears out a key fact which most have not had the guts to speak about. Evolution Theory is just that a theory and why is it that those who believe it are so afraid to have anything said to question it. Intelligent design does not get a fair opportunity in the discussion. More than that he exposes the fact that the debate is not scientific but really one about what is believed. In all a well timed and excellent film

Ben Stein and the others on his side are basically playing the role of victims, and didn't put forth a single argument FOR their side. I was very disappointed after hearing so many good things about this film. They constantly make references to 'flaws' in evolution, yet don't put forth a single example. Basically they are saying that any unsubstantiated claim should be given the same gravitas as a theory that has the entire weight of organic history on its side. A straw-man of a film. Very disappointing.

Main issues aside, the attempt in drawing a parallel between Darwinism and Nazism was absolutely retarded. Its like blaming Jesus for the Westboro Baptist Church. This movie is entertaining but painfully petty and careless in its choice of "expert opinion". None of the interviewees at the beginning of the documentary lost their jobs because of their ideologies, they made choices that violated their contracts and now hide behind persecution to save face. Here's an accurate parallel between this movie and Nazism - Using propaganda to become synonymous with symbols of power, integrity, and triumph. Knocking down the Berlin wall? Visiting concentration camps? Stalin? Gtfo Ben Stein.

No thanks. For a movie that goes on and on about Nazis this sure is a huge piece of propaganda if there ever was one.

It's my understanding that this was the "Intelligent Design" crowd's attempt to create a film that shows the fallacies of "Darwinism" and the supposed consequences that educators have endured for promoting a creator based theory. PLEASE tell me this is not the best they could come up with!! This film is full of the same biases and cuttakes that I.D. promoters complain about with Evolution themed programs! Several of the interviewees have complained that their segments were heavily edited, the "lecture" shown was actually a fake with an auditorium filled with paid students and extras! There is so much falsehoods and misunderstandings in BOTH theories that the average person (including me!) probably thinks at least 1 or 2 facts are actually not! For example, not one of the professors the film claims was terminated for teaching I.D. was actually fired for that fact! That was news to me! I would really like to see a truly non-biased comparison of the two theories, with both sides presenting their info without it decaying into the inevitable shouting match, but I doubt that will ever happen in my lifetime. "Expelled" isn't Micheal Moore quality bias and falsehoods, but it's not that great either.

Ben Stien is revolutionary in this movie.God says for the lack of knowledge the people shall fall/if you are atheist/or christian/or religious this movie sparks the human intellect to search for truth by whatever means no matter the consequence. For what is life and discovery if we are to afraid to break the mold of society and question the powers that be. it is the only way to really be free only in the mind heart and soul can you truly be free. be courageous

Great movie! I Love Ben Stein he is the most intelligent man in the world. His opinions and knowledge is important to how we will survive the stupidity of the Nazis minded people of the world!

i liked this one. no, it's not fair and balanced but it not supposed to be. there's plenty of documentaries out there in support of the evolution theory ( remember when they used to call it that? i mean they're still looking for the missing link with no luck) and none that i have seen scientifically explain it any other way. except for a few ufologists that discuss ancient civilizations like Sitchin and Kolbrin, this is it. so it's slightly biased, big deal. i myself don't know, i wasn't there and all. to me creationism or evolution or ID is just as fantastic as the other. morphing from amoeba or zapped into existence no difference to me, but i think the evidence leans to some zapping in our past. 9/10 go zap masters! :)

feebster You may have missed the point. It was not about proving Creation it was about allowing the possibility. That is the point of this movie. At least that's what I took from it. I also think it did make some strong points but even if you disagree on that the point was not right or wrong it was just that they should be able to approach the possibility of creation.

pretty good movie It seems to me that the movie did focus less on the theory of evolution but that our society is abandoning the freedom of speech and because of that scientific breakthroughs are taking a beating

A theory is as good as it gets in science. Like the theory of gravity and the theory of thermodynamics, evolution has been proven over and over again for the past 150 years to be a very good theory. Science doesn't deal with Metaphysics, it deals with testable tangible data. Believe in a great sky daddy or flying spaghetti monster if you want, just don't try and pass your belief off as science. This movie was ridiculously bad.

feebster I can perhaps see why you took the movie the way you did because you took my comment and made it into something it wasn't. I never said I am sold on Creationism I never was going to call you a Darwinist You have simply preconceived these two things. I was simply stating that the movie to me was about science choosing to dismiss a certain approach or view because it does not fit what they believe. So if you took my comment that far out of context perhaps you should leave your preconceived concepts at the door and re watch the video with a more open mind and perhaps objective eye. I don't see how the movie made no points because it clearly had some interesting concepts or questions that evolution can't answer. I don't want to turn this into an argument because this is not the place for that I just wanted to say what I have said.

Stein, like many other intelligent apologists, is being intentionally misleading when he talks about evolution being a theory. A theory in science has to stand up to peer reviewed evaluation over many years, like the theory of gravity. In science ideas are constantly reviewed and altered, but that's because there isn't one 2000 year old scientific manual handed down to a group of illiterate desert slaves, that holds all the answers. The fact is that even if Darwin never existed, modern scientific breakthroughs, like the mapping of the genome, conclusively prove Darwin's 'theory'.

Fantastic. Wonderfully thought provoking from all angles, which I think is the point; never stop allowing yourself to be open to debate. Ben Stein was the perfect host for such a discussion. Do yourself a favor and watch it.
