Not a role typical of Richard Attenborough at all, but he and John Hurt are excellent in this. Great 70's flick, just sad that the events are true and embarrassing that Christie got away with this for far longer than he should have.

Nothing in this movie is exaggerated and completely realistic. Actually this is what makes it even more hard to watch, when you think about it. Brilliant actors, too.

What a crazy, sick man. This is a perfect portayel of the mind of the serial killer. An "ordinary" man with no social skills, no compassion, and extremely narcissistic and manipulative. A perfect film with flawless acting.

Amazing movie. Pure English black stuff like "The collector". Everything has been studied carefully: script, production, direction, & an outstanding playing makes the rest. 9/10

Excellent acting by Attenborough and Hurt. Great to find such a well made old classic - no special effects, no gorey detail, but still incredibly chilling! Didn't think Attenborough could be so creepy - expressionless face, monotone voice, no emotion to speak of! Top marks from me. Horrible to think it actually happened.

Chilling performance by Richard Attenborough, invokes images of Anthony Perkins Norman Bates. Very interesting story if somewhat macabre, I love these older classics. 10/10 very entertaining, a great watch.

The film was shot in the actual 10 Rillington Place and it is so creepy. Richard Attenborough makes a good pervert.

What a film, surprisingly good..no better than good. John Hurt was a youngster in this role and performed fastastically, Richard was superb and eerily authentic in his acting. Actually kind of scary, like Anthony Hopkins in Silence of The Lambs. Don't miss this little gem of a film.

I watched this so long ago but I still remember being scared of the movie and the fact that it's based on true events. A classic thriller, watch @ ur own risk.

Not to be missed. Based on the true story. Attenborough underplays the serial killer he portrays, John Christie, so well it is bone-chilling.

This is one of my favourite performances by Sir Richard Attenborough. His portrayal of Christie is chillingly superb. The supporting cast are all excellent and the movie captures the events and the atmosphere of the times very well. This, I think, is largely due to the fact that the movie was filmed in Rillington Place while it still existed and although they couldn't film in number 10 because the tennants refused to move to allow it, it was filmed in number 6 Rillington Place which was almost identical. This is such a well made movie all 'round that it's hard to fault. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Chilling thriller made even more so by Richard Attenborough's under-stated performance as the meek and mild serial killer, John Christie. Based on a true story in the UK in the 60s. Rare 5/5 and faved. Thank you uplinkers.
