What are your thought’s on rotties now they have a ban on docking tails (they do in my country anyway) I’ve had one with a docked tail and although some might say, like circumcision “It’s barbaric” I think they look better. Lovely dog btw
Well ive had Rolo (Rolo like the chocolate bar) for 10 yrs now and although he may not be a typical Rotti he has taught me a thing or to about the breed, my previous dog was an Australian cattle dog so big change up.
My go to description for Rotties is they are clown like, they love to play and will develop their own vocabulary, mainly yowling and growling.
Rolo growels like a cat purrs, its scary if your not used to it, he growls at my friends and they understand that they need to behave around us.
What amazes me is how a 140 lb+ dog with huge feet can run so fast, he has taken out a number of rabbits and even a rat.
He eats a 30lb bag of medium grade dog food about every 25 days plus some treats and left overs here and there.
Im not against tail docking, i see how it changes the dogs shape and some people need that look.
Rolo likes to stand his tail up and he brisals the hair on the bottom side so as to fan it out, it has a curve in it and is quite spectacular so no i would never dock a Rottie anymore than i would neuter him given the choice.
I would say he uses his tail quite a bit to express himself especially around other dogs, hes extremely social and loves interacting, his tail will be at different heights and he kind of snaps it around too, hes been attacked and bitten a number of times and yet has never gone after another dog.
Yup pretty darn friendly dogs
that stuff has actually started scarring me with problems. at first it was all nice now its like telling me all this evil stuff lol. aaagh!2 Comments
