The show started out very drama-like, there was little comedic relief and dealt with serious, if not somber issues. As it progressed it took on a more lighthearted, comedic position. Although there were cast changes every season, a few stayed for all four years, including Brittany and Cynthia Daniel who played the Wakefield twins. Not only was the theme song an original song created just for the show, but the songs used throughout the episodes were too. A soundtrack was released in 1995 featuring the songs from the series.

The Next Mutation was a live-action spin-off of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from Saban. The most famous (and most controversial) thing about this show was that it introduced a fifth mutant turtle called Venus de Milo, the TMNT's long lost sister. Set after the events of the three movies, it turns out there was five turtles originally, but after coming into contact with the mutagen they were separated; Donatello, Leonardo, Raphael and Michelangelo were found by Splinter, Venus was found by a Shinobi master called Chung I. Chung I took Venus to China where he taught her the way of the Shinobi. Finally reunited after seventeen years, the turtles must face a new threat: The Dragon Lord, the brutal dictator of the notorious army of dragons known as The Rank.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (DS9) focuses on the 24th century adventures of Captain Benjamin Sisko on space station Deep Space 9, an outpost situated near the mouth of a stable wormhole on the far reaches of explored space. Although Sisko commands Deep Space 9, the station actually belongs to the inhabitants of nearby Bajor, who requested Starfleet's protective presence after Bajoran freedom fighters put an end to the brutal Cardassian occupation of their world. Approximately a sixth of the station's 300 permanent residents are Starfleet personnel; there is also a sizable Bajoran militia presence. The rest of Deep Space 9's inhabitants are civilians, most of whom work in the station's Promenade, a kind of indoor marketplace. Initially, Sisko's mandate from Starfleet was to protect Bajor and the station from any hostiles who ventured into the area.
