This season was so subpar - it’s as if they wrote it all 2 days before deadline and tried to stuff too many characters and plotlines into it.
A phenomenal film. I was a bit older than the protagonist at the time the film takes place, and watching/reliving it brings me to an exalted place. The unknown actors in the movie are quietly masterful and so so real.
This reminded me of the Reagans’ status as total and utter pieces of filth. They’re not busy cutting taxes for the rich and choosing a china pattern anymore. How’s the fire down there, fools?
Sad that this wasn’t renewed. great fun ride!
No renewal? The networks are tyrannical and must be stopped. It’s time the viewers not the executives voted what stays on and what doesn’t.
Mediocre piffle. Laughable acting; the premise is a trope-filled mess.
I really didn’t even suspect the son until half way through this episode, but even then a lot doesn’t add up if he was the killer. How come he left no bloody footprints? How come he has no dna at the scene? How did he avoid getting on camera going to and from the scene, even his father, who is quite familiar with the location couldn’t avoid the cameras, so how did the son? Does the son hide the hammer every time he needs to use the violin case? Why wouldn’t the son just get rid of the hammer? Does the husband know it was the son and came up with the story of leaving? Did the husband flee in order to protect his son and make himself the primary suspect? lots of questions need answers here.
Be prepared to have very few of them answered, especially since it’s just a TV show and you seem to want to superimpose realism upon it.
The writers of his show are throwing stinky red herrings left and right.
This is FANTASTIC! Great music, acting, costuming and everything! One of my all time favorites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeah, it’s a real shame they killed it in its infancy.
absolutely appauling how can anyone question this mans guilt ? oh I forgot the left can
Uh, I am radically liberal and I always maintained that he is guilty, so there goes your theory.
if chris rock dies i will happily start watching again from there -other than that i really dont care i stopped watching at ep 4 or 5 -worst Fargo ever and i was big fan of the franchise - WOW the IMDB REVIEWS ON SEASON 4 ARE NO HOLDS BARRED they are more scathing than me
I must agree on this front - this was one of my favorite shows, but this season is unmercifully dull and paradoxically also overwrought…maybe the season was rushed? Whatever the case may be, I will see it through but afterward I will never view this season again.
I’ve been bingeing this show since yesterday loving every second of it. Whoever wrote this thing has such a sick sense of humor. I love it! Rated 5/5
bill burr created it. the show is based on his dad and growing up in his family. check out bill burr’s stand-up and his podcast if you like this.
Ugh, I am trying to figure out a way to watch this show while cutting the scenes with the annoying little troll that is Amy. Her behavior in this show was disgusting and hypocritical. Thank GOD she is leaving the show this year.
I always forget that binge-watching a show can bring you dangerously close to hating every single character on it…time for a break.
I am SO proud of Jonah. Good decision on his part.
BEST. ENDING. EVER.
If you’re a DS fan, you should really watch him in 1970’s “Alex in Wonderland” directed by Paul Mazursky, if you haven’t seen it. I like Donald’s groovy hippie era.
Yep, still likin’ Kidman for the skull-bashing.
Another great episode…lots of disclosure in this one.
FWIW, Sutherland still does it for me…I think it’s the gravelly voice.
He’s one of the few great Hollywood voices left…RIP Sir Sean Connery!
As always, thanks Uploaders!
This is great, but my god, Nicole Kidman’s face is so botoxed and blown-up, she can’t even make a convincing facial expression anymore. That is a pathetic thing for an actor to do to their face, their livelihood, as it is meant to convey so much information to the viewer. It really cuts down on my enjoyment of the show.
Wow. “Amazing” how Amy Schumer keeps getting offers from Netflix to turn her (terrible) standup routine into shows. Clearly little Ms. Schumer is relying heavily on her uncle (Senator Chuck Schumer) to influence the right people at Netflix to keep throwing good money after bad when it comes to not one, not two..but three shows.
Amy Schumer is not…I repeat NOT as funny as she thinks she is..her 5 minutes of fame stemming from the awful movie “Train Wreck” expired years ago, the movies she has been in since bombed big time at the box office and she is about as relevant today as a 5 day old Ham Snadwich left out in the sun.
She needs to finally understand that there are far more intelligent and funnier female commedians out there who are so much more better than she is.
She is incredibly unfunny, obnoxious, and revolting. I think SHE may be paying Netflix to have them air her, lol
LOL !!! I knew her husband had to be a mental gimp or a gold digger to sleep with her ! LOL
Very brave to try and sequel such a classic but they did so surprisingly well and suitably dark, I loved this
Yes, I obsessed over this film as a kid, so many iconic images. It’s still one of my favorites.
And yes, genius , managers make more money, but it is surprising when a simple store manager makes $100,000 more than an associate.
I hate Amy. Everyone in the store should hate Amy. Thanks to this show , I learned that the average Wal-Mart store associate makes 30,000 yearly, while store managers make $102,000-$175,000 plus insurance , 401k and stock options. That pisses me off royally.
One of my favorite episodes of Northern Exposure-hilarious from start to finish.
love this show. that last discussion between Darlene and Dan was great.
Well, that made me very uncomfortable.
Extremely re-watchable! There is a chemistry on screen of not only the cast but the writers too. The cast did a fabulous job portraying their characters, the writing is great and the story is full of slap your knees as you laugh out loud comedy. I would describe the viewing experience of this film as “What a Hoot!”
I’d like to add that this is one of River Phoenix’s precious few comedic roles, and he nails it. Also, William Hurt and Keanu Reeves do an outstanding job as a pair of imbecilic junkie criminals.
i want an oompa looma now! <feeling self-righteous> :)
“Can it, you nit!” LOL
reminds me of “i want an oompa loompa and i want it NOW !” mentality -where is Mr Wonka when ya need him ??
exactly … and we all remember what happened to Veruca Salt after she threw that fit.
By contrast to previous seasons, Season 4 seems a trifle aimless and meandering.
As a huge fan of previous seasons and a diminished fan of the present season , I have to agree.
I loved this movie as a kid, still like it, but the best thing about it to me today is the bitchen instrumental that begins and ends the movie! That, and the fact that the bitchy Italian girl is played by an actress named Rainbow Harvest.
“I wanna see you sweat a little!…and when ya smart me, it RUINS it.”
find links primewhere!
“find links!” you sound like the worst little whining brat in a country full of over-privileged babies. Get off of PW if you cannot be bothered to politely ask for a link in the forums. Do some work and stop expecting everything to fall into your lap.
“i’m going to find her…and then I’m gonna kill her!” LOL, this film’s sub-plot is about what might be one of the WORST and most widespread cases of mistaken identity ever!
LOL snazzy, you had me at “Acid-drenched” :)
I always feel like I’m on a trip watching this one!
Thanks snazzy, saved The Doom Generation to watch list
You won’t be disappointed!
If you like this, make sure to watch “The Doom Generation”.
Acid-drenched, mind-blowing. One of my favorites with an outstanding soundtrack.
McBride does an incredible job casting his co-stars. They always play quirky characters that are hilarious.
He seems to have a go-to stable of cast and crew that he relies on, like Cassavetes sort of…the same actors and directors/producers in this as in “Vice Principals”.
This was filmed all over my hometown…a few friends of mine show up as extras.
eff 10/16 : New HD Versions. Great Video & Audio quality.
yay! thank u
You haven’t even apologized for your last comment, which is the least I’d expect before taking anything you say seriously. Your nothing but toxicity and anger.
Krl246, don’t pay that half-wit any attention whatsoever. His words and his opinions mean nothing to anyone.
KEVIN Healey?? Haha, guess that first name didn’t do well with test audiences so they changed it to David.
Man I love this show but I despise Roseanne herself, the woman and the character - makes it hard to watch sometimes! But John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Sandra Bernhard…amazing and funny every time.
I’m familiar with both terms. I stand by my original comment. The description here and on IMDB is of a black sheep. “Abe Wertheimer - an odious, purposeless, self-centered 35-year-old living parasitically with his parents (by choice) and working in his dismayed father’s business office (avoiding work while scoping eBay for collectible toys) - meets Miranda,”
dark horse: a candidate or competitor about whom little is known but who unexpectedly wins or succeeds.
And you really think that the writer/director didn’t know what he was doing when he named his own movie? And you know better?Laughable! That’s a whole lot of hubris on your part.
The director Todd Solondz is an oasis of talent in a sea of gross mediocrity and pretty much every film he has made is well worth watching with perhaps ‘Happiness’ topping the bill.
Agreed! “Life During Wartime” is also perhaps the most perfect sequel I have ever seen, coming close to being as concurrently brilliant as “Happiness”.
You would think they would have figured out they mixed the idioms dark horse with black sheep before they finished shooting. Apparently not.
“A dark horse is a previously less known person or thing that emerges to prominence in a situation, especially in a competition involving multiple rivals, or a contestant that on paper should be unlikely to succeed but yet still might.” They are using it correctly. “Dark horse” is not necessarily a derogatory term, and the main character in this movie saw himself as a dark horse. The film is not centered around his family or himself viewing him as a black sheep…in fact, his parents enabled and coddled him to a degree.
Outstanding film. 4.5/5
This film is akin to ‘science of sleep’ or ‘eternal sunshine of a spotless mind’ in that it mixes moments of mundane, awkward reality with the surreal. The plot itself may not seem as linear as other films but this does not lessen the value or quality of the film
It is written by Charlie Kaufman, who I think also wrote those two films.
Agree. Gregory tells a good story but accuracy is not a strong point with her. I like the series but it is total fiction.
As a BA in history I understand the annoyance at embellishments, but come on, after a time you just have to drop that jazz. This is called “period drama” for a reason. If you want the true story told A to Z there are several documentaries available for you to scrutinize.
