Thanks for this update, Robo! Very interested in finding out where the writers will take Dexter. The way I see it, must be really good to have enticed Hall into signing up again.

Thanks Devs for creating the page which allows me to add it to my schedule! Cannot wait! I read this book way back when I was still in high school! I’m expecting this series to improve upon the previous one as this one will probably try to instill some current-events-related fears into viewers. Nonetheless, big faves in the cast: Skarsgard (doing what he does best), Goldberg (a meh Oracle), Marsden (finally fitting in his skin).
Of course, this is only based on the trailer but since I know the book it’s based on, Imma roll wid it!

Haven’t read the novels so don’t hate but those storm-troopers probably pointing to some corporation (big pharma?) being behind the whole shebang. Hopefully, Rick will be making his appearance soon. Great episode!
Last but not least, THANK YOU Uploaders for this 3-day early, much anticipated upload! As always, you settle my wandering soul!

I wonder if all of them have to team up to defeat that thing, or will it morph into something altogether different?

Well, that was unexpected! I almost thought we had a chest-buster!
Judging by the skeletons, it might keep the eel-like shape…seemed to keep growing instead of changing.
I thought a second group of settlers was a good addition.

I do enjoy the film noir/neo noir crime thriller style; I think that was the intent here. They did well with the bright-colored wardrobe and sets to bring to life what was usually seen in black-n-white in that type of film or films of that period. I also applaud the use of shadows, split screens, scene transitions, and the rising crescendo of the music to get your heart racing, as a thriller is meant to do.
But they peaked too early (episode 4) and couldn’t maintain the thrall for the remaining 3 episodes. It became more of a soap opera than a crime drama or thriller.
Having said that, Sophie Okonedo and Judy Davis almost took over the show with Sharon Stone killing it despite Sarah Paulson’s great work…look out for the couple of scenes with these two…it’s all in the eyes!
Unfortunately, for me, a season 2 would be more of a meh than a bring it on!.

What if Nurse Ratchet mellows out in her later years because she satisfactorily resolves her brother’s situation? But in the years after that resolution, she develops a liking for her evil ways…I mean her brand of angelic bedside manner.

Are they related in any way (other than the name)?

permalink
Researcher 2 points 1 month ago. (Contains Spoilers)

IMHO, they are not related, the only similarities are the communal lifestyles. But that’s a secondary plot-line, maybe even tertiary if you consider the challenge to the alpha male’s authority in the movie and the money-laundering in the TV show. The main plot-lines (movie-main character rescuing battered women for his commune, TV show-artificially inseminating young women against their will) are miles apart.
Having watched both, I heartily recommend both this series (wouldn’t mind a second season) and the movie (I have yet to find a Vincent Cassel product that I haven’t liked!). 3.5 / 5

What kind of cop takes clippings of himself on his undercover assignment?!! And why was is so important to have him on the truck if there’s no intention of following it or recording the meet with the other bad guys?!!!
I blame the writer(s)!

Thomas Jane and Anne Heche are usually better than this! So much stupid sh!t…I blame the writers. The one thing that prompted the comment is this: you’re a grieving parent…you go snooping around some creep’s place…you turn on a VCR with a tape in it…got it. But the minute you see your missing daughter on the screen, you should have grabbed the tape and run like hell to the cops/fire-rescue that are set up right there on the campgrounds!!! And don’t get me going on how poorly Heche and James played the parents of a missing daughter!
The only redeeming feature is the ending but they (actors, director, writers, what-have-you) needed more throughout the film to really connect to the ending. At the end, I just felt tricked instead of being whoa’d. Watchable but frustratingly infuriating…2 of 5.

For those that enjoyed “Primer,” here’s Carruth’s second movie. No need to watch “Primer,” just a reference to the style. Be patient with the first acts, it’ll all fall into place. I like to be challenged with my movie-watching and this one fit the bill quite nicely. Highly recommend for the high-end “connect the dots” feel.

Wow! It’s been a while since I’ve enjoyed a true cliffhanger for a season finale! Very original treatment of this type of plot-line. I highly recommend this one for anyone that enjoys a slow burning thriller. And I hope someone’s looking into the second season…slated for JUN 2020 so maybe it’s out there? Thanks for this one, Uploaders!

I love alternate reality dystopian type shows (see: Man in the High Castle) but this one is, ugh. I made it all of 23 min. Holy hell is this terrible. Dialog, acting, directing, editing, camera work, all of it, is just cringe worthy. In fact the bat shiat incompetence on so many levels is mind boggling. You know it’s gonna be worse than high school amateur hour when the “actors” can’t even smoke a cigarette convincingly.

I should have read etim’s post first, though they were being quite generous equating this travesty to a B-movie.

My advice, don’t waste your time or your brain cells. Big dogs=big disappointment. This stillborn puppy of a show can’t even find the porch let alone try to get off of it to run anywhere with anything. Best to bury it under a tree and move on.

LOL! I saw the first part of your comments in the sidebar and rushed over to watch…made it as far as the first arrest! I couldn’t believe how cops in a supposedly-undercover cop car, masquerading as a cab, would blow their cover in front of bystanders using their camera phones!
Then I came back and read the rest of your comment…dead on! Everything about this is sucks…such a waste of time.

I can see why Robo calls it “Americanization” but is it rather that it’s high-caliber SciFi material? I think it’s about a level or two below the blockbuster standard but still delivers in visuals. I’d rank it up there with ‘Independence Day’ and ‘Battle: Los Angeles’ for the CGI VFX. A similar item would be ‘Skyline.’ Good watch…on to part 2.
