Well, I’m intrigued with episode one Hoping for the best for the rest of the series. I’m becoming a fan of Douglas Hanshall, from “Shetland”. Surely, it can ony be good, right? We’ll see.

I’m not completely sold with this one. I would’ve stopped much earlier has it not been for Clive Owen. He’s a good actor, but underrated, in my opinion. I’m curious though, to see how his character’s sight will burden him as the series go along. So for Clive, I’ll watch the rest.

Hmmm…I would like to embrace this show, but the lost of sight for a cop, is as bad as it gets. And it would very irresponsible AND dangerous for that person to keep their job. We’ll see how he manages.

I’m still not sure about this show. I don’t relate to any of the characters, nor do I care about them. They are petty, conniving, and spoiled. I’ll keep watching. For now.

This story was too slow-paced for my liking. Personally, I would’ve liked to see more of the aftermath, and less focusing on the spoiled-rotten daughter. I actually had to fast-forward a couple of times, here and there. So for me, it could’ve been better.

The brutality of the torture in this series, was a bit gratuitous to me. With cops killing cops, and no accountability, it’s a bit far-fetched. I’m pretty sure that with the level of corruption involved here, the word would’ve gone to the ears of the corruption unit. Killing another cops is very risky. And the level of torture afflicted upon the population of Yorkshire, would be noticed eventually. I didn’t like the way the story was told. Because in the end, there is no resolution, no justice. Except for one culprit, the rest no. One role was well acted and moved me, Robert Sheehan’s BJ. I didn’t have to say much to convey his pain, both physical and emotional. Beside that, this was a waste of time for me. Disappointing, considering the cast.

Here I was, hoping that things would get better with this installment. But nope. Still more drama than actual police procedures. The ending was predictable too. I don’t feel like wasting more time than I have already, but might as well finish the whole series. Oh, happy happy, joy joy. Goodie.

Now, that was disappointing. I expected Andrew Garfield’s character to be smarter than he was. He was reckless and too impetuous. I thought it was going to be about an investigation, about a young journalist trying to find out about the truth. What I got, was a lot of childish behavior and too much drama. And Andrew Garfield got on my nerve, because most of his lines were mumbled. Made it hard to understand what he was saying, at times. Something he does a lot. The ending was anticlimactic, cliche and pointless. So to me, this first installment was a miss. Hope the next episode will be better.

This could’ve been so good. But the behavior of those agents was mind-boggling. Going off on your own without telling colleagues, despite having been in trouble for that before. One is clearly unstable, but hey, let’s keep him on the job anyway. It’s not like he won’t be reliable when the defense comes sniffing. And there’s Nina. (sigh). Do they come more unprofessional than her? She’s another basket case. She’s not focused. And Alec. Too eager to prove himself, to the point of endangering his colleagues. And the cliche boss. Who only come here and there, expecting things all wrapped with a bow, and pleasing his bosses. To hell with proven justice. I mean FFS, the Germans looked more professional and focused. My head is left spinning after watching this show. Very annoying, because I started liking it. Hours of my life I can’t get back.

I’m starting to lose interest in the storyline, a bit. I hope I’m wrong, but i feel like the bigger picture is very elusive. By now, we should’ve been smack in the middle of it. This picture better be good. And once again, detectives are not behaving the way they should. It’s annoying me.

I thought the wife storyline would be resolved, but I was left with more questions than answers. I hope it won’t be lost in space, for it was an important part of the storyline. And with this episode, even more questions are left behind. These writers better know where they’re going with all of this. It would be a disappointment otherwise.

I guess I’m going to have to watch the whole season, to find out about the storyline of the wife. I wish though, that the length of each episode would be longer. More a format of 1h30mins, which would feel like the investigation they’re solving, is stretched in days or weeks, realistically. Not many cases of murder are solved in a day. On to the next episode.

Hayley Atwell is a very good actress, and I’m a big fan of her bodywork. But I’m not sure where they are taking her character to. Too many things right off the bat, are wrong, forensically. People there, don’t seem to use gloves very much. Implantation of evidence without gloves, as to transfer one’s DNA? Come on now! That’s just one thing. Then you have the violent, sexist and piggish attitude of the boss. Talking about being a bully. That was literally verbal and fierce abuse, that turned me off. I know it happened in all spheres of life, but wow. That was intense. I don’t know where this is going, but I hope it gets better when it comes to the storyline. Cuz so far, it a bit unrealistic.

Nope, I’m sorry. I just can’t get into this series,The main character’s behavior, is totally unrealistic. Now, I understand her past and how it might explain how she is shaped nowadays but, it was stretched a little too much for me. Pregnant women don’t tend to put themselves in physical danger, at the detriment of their unborn child. Again, I understand the nuances they were trying to instill, but the maternal instinct tend to protect. It’s a primal instinct. Those situations were she puts herself and her unborn baby in danger, did not feel real but forced. And after seeing the previews for the next episode, I do not feel the need to continue with this series. Unfortunate.

This was a good enough episode. I don’t even remember how I came across this show, but I’m not sad I did. Although I find it odd that the actors were mostly British, instead of Spanish. And that despite the fact that Marton Csokas was good in his role. He played the tortured soul pretty well. But it would’ve nicer to see more of the locals, instead of foreigners. And some questions were left unanswered. Also, Falcon himself, had some doubtful behaviors. Not the best, but not the worse either.

So far, this is just OK by me. The main character is bland, has no charisma. Nothing that can jump at you, and grab you. She looks bored and doesn’t come across as someone who knows what’s she doing. And her crew s just as boring, and worse, borderline sexist. We’ll see how it goes with part 2.
