this series shouldn't have been so long, there were quite a lot of filler episodes that were not necessary for the understanding of the story and weren't that entertaining, but other than that I especially liked the beginning. The beginning was interesting and very clever, but then I felt it went down hill from there. The end sort of redeems itself a bit but left me with many unanswered questions. I liked it, but it's not a favorite and I don't plan on ever watching this again. My favorite character was pino because she was cute and so innocent...

The dialogue in this can be awful at times but I guess thats what happens with translations, just don't let it put you off because the story behind it is great and contains many philosophical questions. It still manages to entertain despite the plain english. Episode eleven is one of my favourite pieces of anime.

am only 3 eps in and am already captivated and blown away by the style, animation, and story of this show. The animation is smooth and stylistic, just the addition of eyeshadow on a main character does so much to make her 'real', its crazy. the whole thing is beautifully drawn. The story so far is a hell of a mystery that makes you want to know whats going on just as much as the characters do. and the setting is pretty realistic for something set in the future. its kind of blade runner/ modern day tokyo/aeon flux/music video/futuristic gothic with hints of roman and greek architecture thrown in. And as for having radiohead on the end credits, awesome, that track just goes so well with the feel of the show, and its rare to hear western music in a japanese show, its one of the reasons i love cowboy bebop, the music is awesome. Anyway, loving this show so far. It'l probably go on my very short list of fav animes along with Cowboy Bebop, Akira, Paprika, Ghost in the Shell (except G.I.T.S.2.0, i didnt see the point in that film being made, it was like trying to make a mini cooper classic look like Zonda, it just didnt work) and Armitage III, Patlabor isnt bad either but it can be a bit slapstick at times. Anyway, if you like any of those shows youll like this too

Very cool and visually-lush anime with a compelling, engaging story. Most noteworthy is the interesting psychological/philosophical elements which unfold with increasing complexity until the last episode. The soundtrack is also very good and compliments the strangeness of the overall mood within the Ergo Proxy world. This show is definitely worth the time of all twenty-three episodes, and a thought-provoking piece of art.

An anime with first class art direction and a very well thought out story line. Some episodes are seemingly a departure from the style and thoughts of the others, bringing refreshing-albeit sometimes confusing until later considered- depths to the complexity of the story. As an allegory of utopia, I was very impressed.

more a visual trip than a solid storyline based anime. I utterly suggest it when you want a refreshing break from any kind of entertainment, both movies (&series) and anime.. this anime try to be philosophical, mystic and sci-fi and it does not comply whatever they wanted to create. That s its beauty, it cause you to drift from anything else. I advise though that in the very first episodes it can be frustrating... it did this effect to me too, and i hardly watched the second episode... I resumed it after three days of confident refusal because its style is captivating... and I m glad I had resumed it.
