Stand By Me is a very intense, bittersweet film that I could almost feel the actors emotions - I cried as a teen watching this film. It's not without some comedy thrown in to break up the drama. The story is well scripted and acted out - so much so you are drawn into the movie with the group of adventurous boys. The movie helps to capture what friendship and being young is all about. Laughter, guilt, sadness, anger, pain, heartache and joy are just some of the emotions this group of young boys went through! I would highly recommend this film to those who have not seen it yet - particular to those who are coming of age. 9/10

I watched this in religion class a few days ago. It made me re-think about movies made before I was born... very good movie. It's a shame now a days friends and adventures like that don't exist anymore in most places. O how I wish I could have lived back in the 80s...

This film is beyond brilliant, I love movies about childhood relationships and journeys, it just makes you want to be a kid again and live your life carefree, where you don't worry about money or love or work! ( as much as i try to avoid worrying about it now, you can't escape it!) This is one of my top 10 films for sure, greatly constructed, you feel every conversation as if its real, every emotion as if you really feel it. Brilliant film.
