when I was a kid, the story about the ghost kid who drowned scared the hell out of me. As well as the pool monster thing with the rotten egg smell. Loved this show.

A childhood favorite! Way better than Goosebumps. It scared me quite a bit as a kid. p.s. I think it's hilarious that Ross Hull does the weather on the Weather Network now, lol.

This show was my jam when I was little. They don't make them like this anymore. In fact, they don't make scary kids tv shows at all? 90s rule, end of story

@millimuffin I agree... if this was missing in my childhood, I would say "submitted for the approval of the midnight society I call this comment "Tales of the missing childhood"... :)

I wonder if the author of the Harry Potter books got her idea of Harry from Gary. The first book came out a year after the Are You Afraid of the Dark? series started, Gary looks like he and Daniel Radcliffe could have been brothers, and the fact that everyone of his stories were about magic. Kind of makes you wonder. I wish they would do a movie with the original cast that included Frank and Eric and have the movie Rated between PG-13 and R so that is will appeal to kids and adults. The Rated R part would only be more scary realistically creepy stories and more ruthless evil villains, but PG-13 where language and tame adult situations in the story are concerned. I would like to see three joint stories told. First one by Gary and Eric [brother-in-laws from marrying a sister of Eric's he never had the chance to mention]; the second by Kristen and David [married couple]; and the last by Beth Ann, Kiki, and Frank [they discovered that they were living in the same building and were all writers who decided to write stories together]. Save the best and creepiest one for last. Each story would get 30 or 40 minutes to complete depending on if the movie was hour and a half or 2hours long. Have to make sure that Frank and Gary's stories have some connection to Dr. Vink and Sardo "no Mr accent on the doe." lol Maybe Dr. Vink had a son and Sardo had a much younger sister. The son is now close to the age Dr. Vink was and Sardo's sister could now be same age that Sardo was. Well wishful thinking for a show that I really loved to watch. I had a huge crush on Beth Ann back then. I wish they had given her more stories. She told the Twilight Zone, Tales from the Darkside, and Outer Limits stories I love. Beth Ann knew what I liked. lmao Enjoy the series, later
