Classic. . . 10/10

For anyone not getting the 2nd half of the movie, or feeling it dose'nt deliver as much as first build up, what your not understanding is the 2nd half of this movie is H.P. Lovecraft fueled, Meaning it embarks you on Ash's Slow decent to madness as all this happens around him, at the beginning of the movie he's almost nothing more than a supporting character until one by one his friends are killed and turned into possessed corpses, H.P. Lovecraft often used the motive of taking the reader through a journey of a character slowly losing his mind because of the incomprehensible horrors they witness and their journey into madness.

What is there not to love about Bruce Campbell? Such a good movie, I love the Evil Dead Series so much, forget the new one guys and girls. Stick with the classics!

This is one of the classics, so you don't get the special effects as you today. It has a plot, an actual cause and effect...even with all the money flushed into new productions, the new films fail to produce a horror of this caliber! 2013 version is an over the top blood bath that crashed. This is a fan favorite and I will continue to enjoy this film over and over again...

He was drenched in blood 3 to 4 times and a second after each time he wasn't... lol great recovery. I enjoyed it though I guess, something very comforting about crappy clay-like makeup effects.

The new one and the old one are about on the same level for me. But they were still enjoyable. it was so funny and a bit tense at times.... I was actually terrified when she was raped by that tree. Talk about extreme wood. loved it 4/5

Personally, I find this original to be much better than the recent remake. This is 80's gore done right. It honestly kept me at the edge of my seat through out the entire movie as I tried to figure out what would happen next and I was always surprised! Scary, good old fashioned 80's gore with buckets of blood and honestly for the time, the special effects were pretty good. Great story, great action. THIS is what a scary movie should look like! 9/10

This film is a classic , then and now. Loved watching it when it first came out in the theaters and I loved watching it now, compared to the graphics of today the graphics may to some come across as cheesy. nevertheless it got me jumping many times out of my seat! 9/10 :)

Okay, we all know the plot to this one backwards and forwards, so I'm not going to bother with an unnecessary synopsis here. Instead, I'll just give this endearingly ragged early 80's splatter horror indie landmark all the props that it deserves. Granted, Bruce Campbell's acting leaves a bit too be desired (he's much better in the second one), the make-up f/x are pretty primitive, and the production values are a tad chintzy and cheesy, but there's no denying the sheer infectious abundance of pure brio, passion, energy and enthusiasm which permeates every last gloriously gonzo frame. Sure, money can buy slicker production values and fancier special effects, but all the money in the world can't and won't compensate for a severe dearth of heart and soul. This is the secret to this admittedly scrappy movie's remarkably enduring cult appeal and grungy charm; you can tell everyone involved in this deliciously demented delight put their proverbial all into the film. Moreover, the roughness of the film itself gives the movie a substantial raw, rattling, unrelenting power and intensity that a bigger budget and slicker execution would have only detracted from. Yeah, it's got its faults, but said flaws aside it still does the kick-you-in-the-gut jolting and startling trick to this very day. 10/10

This, ED2 and Texas Chainsaw Massacre kicked me into horror back in 1989. There should be a VHS Edition, with a slight add of film grain. Remember pushing those cassettes into the player, with my big brothers handwriting on the labels and pressing hard on that play button. This is my ABC's to movies, as is AC/DC (w/ Scott) to music. This started it all.
