yes, this is a all time classic, but the book is better in that you get to see the story from Scout's point of view, get a better "look" at life in the old south, and it shares with the reader the fragile nature of a child's maturing and conscientiousness during that time. the movie did not get the viewer involved nor did it admit sympathy to the multiple afflicting circumstances that all the characters experienced. the trial was the main focus and the most articulate event in the movie, but hurried and ill-expounded. even in the time this film was made, better script and direction far exceeded this one. for its content only this movie is a 4/5

people kept telling me the book is way better but the movie is still a classic movie. I just saw this for the first time (I have never read the book, but now I want to) and it was awesome, awesome cast with a very good storyline to boot 5/5

This is an amazing book that last year, where I was a freshamn, our whole grade had to read this book. I was doubtful that I wouldn't like, but wrong was I! I really wish that we could have read it earlier, but this is a really inspiring movie. WATCH IT. (I recommend that you read the book first as the movie cut out a few characters, and scenes.) 10/10

I read the book many times , never saw the movie until now , I have to say that this movie complimented the book very well..superior acting, flawless directing, both the book and the movie are timeless classics.. very strong 10-10

Erasing the line between black and white and replacing it with right and wrong. Gregory Peck is at his best.

Nice. I liked this movie, but it was NOTHING compared to the book, which was phenomenal (even after someone gave away the ending). Obviously, there were alternations and cuts from the book, and although the director chose a great path to take the movie, the whole book played a bit better in my head. This movie is more from Atticus' perspective, so all the things the kids do might not make sense unless you read the book. Also, after reading the slow and contemplative pace of the novel, the movie seemed a bit rushed and squeezed together, obviously since there wasn't enough time. Loved Atticus, but Gregory Peck is much too handsome for the role! All the cast really fit the image of the characters, but all of their roles were altered to fit the different perspective of the movie. Enjoyed it overall, but keep in mind that it is different from the book.

I cant believe those who go crazy for this movie even after they read the book! The movie doesnt do justice to the book. It's cut, alternated and hurried. But more importantly, it feels more from Atticus's perspective rather than little Scout's. Always thought I'd like it but no, just couldnt find my beloved book in the film. Disappointed here :(

That moment when Scout does the judo on the lynch mob is one of the most beautiful in film history.

I loved this as much as I love the book. I am so glad I was forced to read this book in school. I was sure it would bore me way too much but it actually turned into one of the best stories I've ever read and I knew I had to watch the movie as well even though it has taken me 6 years to finally watch it. Even though it cut things out of the film that were in the book it still captured most of the important parts of the book and it did not disappoint at all. I loved every minute. 10/10
