I think you know a bad movie when you just want to forget you've ever watched it, and a great movie when the days and weeks after watching it, you just cant stop thinking about it. Thankfully this falls into the latter, with a movie that's still open to interpretation about justice being served. One of my all time favourite movies.

I have heard about this film for years and I never thought it sounded too interesting. Well, we all make mistakes. Absolutely brilliant writing and acting. Henry Fonda delivers a true honest portrayal, as do all the rest of the cast. Thanks to whoever posted it.

This was amazing. Despite only having one setting, and pretty much only dialogue I still found it highly entertaining. The characters were great and very well acted. The plot was really intriguing. Kept me on the edge of my seat. I give it 5/5. It's a must see!

This is one of those on the surface you see one thing, but don't scratch too deep because it is actually saying something else. This movie being a pure fictional account gives the script writers freedom to compose **what if scenarios** and lead the viewer to distrust those that go into jury with preconceived opinions as bad. That is not always true. Those preformed opinions are often very correct. The focus of the film on the shallow side is how close the jury came to concluding an innocent man was guilty. Not a spoiler, the film description says as much. Watch the film a second time and get the hidden message. Filmed in 1957 at the early stages of progressive reforms in courts, and the start of large jump in criminal activity. These reforms made it more difficult to actually convict criminals. .......................................... This lead to legislators making laws that made huge increases in penalties of crimes and rather than risk going to jail, often people would plead down to lesser crimes. Fonda role is of a **bleeding heart** Christian liberal. This 50s movie was before the left had completely divorced itself from the church. Clues given in the movie are **throw a coin in the donation box** and **giving a sermon**. Notice who in the movie is portrayed as calm and reasonable. Notice the characters that are shown as emotional, easily upset, and with vice towards minorities. Total opposites as best as the writers could make them, as flawed as possible. But saying the average fellow is a bad person for correctly noting that elevated school disciplinary measures, political corruption, and criminal conviction occur in certain segments goes against all the good sense God gave people. ............................................ Defining **reasonable doubt**. Reasonable doubt is what it says, reasonable... it is not to be redefined as **within the realm of 100% plausible**. ........................... With that said, I really enjoyed this movie, it makes you think and pay attention. It is the reason I watch movies with a grain of salt. It is also the reason this movie that is mostly filmed in a boring room gets such high ratings from leaning movie critics. They know the backstory propaganda it tells, with a discerning mind you can see it too.

it's impressive how a b&w movie shot in one room where what all the characters do is talk still managed to glue me to the screen from start to finish (i'm very picky about watching old movies let alone b&w ones). spectacular acting and dialog. now this is what i call a masterpiece.

I'm not one to usually (or ever) watch old films like this. But damn...I checked this out on Matt Atchity's recommendation (he said it was a flawless film), and boy was I taken aback by this movie!! I usually get bored by these black n white, early films... but this was intense and moving as f***! My God. Props to all the actors, especially the main guy (Henry Fonda) and Lee J. Cobb who turned in a spectacular, powerful performance. 10/10 MUST-SEE.

"This is a film where tension comes from personality conflict, prejudices, dialogue and body language, not action." --Roger Ebert. Sums this one up perfectly. One of favorite films. 10/10

What an excellent 1957 drama, you will recognize many of the actors' names, including Henry Fonda. Not exactly a court-room drama as it takes place in the jury room, but for those that like that genre you'll love this one. Highly recommended for that that go for quality films. 5/5 Thank you uplinkers.

this great film should be seen by every potential juror in the United States; i.e., everyone. there's one setting for the most part, the jury room, no women, no sex, no cars, no guns -- but there IS a knife -- no slam-bang action AT ALL. 12 Angry Men depends on an excellent screenplay by Reginald Rose, directed by Sidney Lumet, and acted by an ensemble cast of 12 wonderful actors. it makes you think. as one poster said, it shows how opinions can change, or can be changed, and that is a very important thing to know. 10/10

I saw this film for the first time when I was 12 years old and I was blown away by it even then as a child. One of the most powerful and well acted movies ever made and a personal favorite, do yourself a favor and please watch it. 10/10

Saw this in college and it was unforgettable. Try doing this in real life though, and it doesn't turn out that way. I was that angry woman. Fighting 11 people for justice is probably the hardest thing to do. I still have nightmares about it. God help our flawed justice system and the jurors who just want to get home to their beds because they've already made up their minds.
