This shouldn't be listed as a documentary, as it implies a fact based observation. This belongs in the fantasy/drama category. It never fails to amaze me how many people cling to these bronze age mythologies. It would be quite humorous if it wasn't so dangerous and hateful. 1/5 for the effort.

Ok. For those who do not know it...Youtube is banned in countries like Turkey (where I am at) so if is at all possible can we get an alternative like here? Please (yes I am begging). It is annoying to use a proxy/VPN with all those popup ads and stuff plus the movie is in parts.

a real life exorcist once said, that satans biggest victory was to convince mankind he doesent exist."you dont see me,therefore you dont see Him either"... now lets see how many atheists vote this comment down.lol

Most of modern day preachers are incorrect about their teachings of hell they are based on pagan beliefs rather than the Bible and misrepresent Gods character, for instance they say hell will burn forever, yet the Bible says hell will burn so hot that it will burn every thing up and there will be now more left, yes even the Devil... Ezk. 28:18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. 28:19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more. Malachi 4 1For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Hellenistic? that kinda refers to 500 BC to 250 BC, the dark ages are kinda 500 AD to 850 AD - sure youve got that the right way round mate? The word Hell comes from the anglo saxon Hel, the viking afterlife, while Hellenistic means the old greeks, the "Hellenes", greece used to call itself "Hellas" back then (I think its got sompin to do with Helen of Troy, not sure tho)

if you listen to preachers, priest, deacons, reverends, popes,or holy men ,the average person does not know what to believe...basically if you subscribe to one religion, you are following that one pastor or popes idea of how they enterpret the bible or holy book,.... which really may not be the exact way....so many of these religious leaders each believe differently, and whose to say which is right.....the bible and all other holy books have been re written and retranslated so many times so whose to say they havent been readjusted or tweaked in accordance to the rewriters entrerpretation or view of what they really feel that GOD or BUDDA or MOHAMMED is really saying....i guess that Im just trying to warn people to be careful who they follow...this film gives you so many diverse beliefs its easy to understand why so many people fall or shy away from religion

Hell isnt from hebrew belief, its a rippoff of greek myth, Hades, the gloomy land of the dead - as the greek characters called "satyrs", those eternally horny but mostly harmless forest goat-men, are similarly ripped of by early christians, and literally demonised, to make the character "Satan" (who has somehow replaced Lucifer, the rebel angel) in modern christianity. This kind of rippoff behaviour in religion is very old tho, look at the babylonian Flood story, its about 75% the same as the Noah story, but starring Anu the sun god instead of Jehova the sky god, a blackbird is used to detect land instead of a dove, and the other differences are similar cosmetic differences - as Hebrew mythology is not older than 1,500 BC its pretty easy to tell who stole what story from who lol

Focuses too much on a single description of hell, while many other cultures have various descriptions. Also focuses too much on satan, than actually talking about hell. Not very interesting. 2/5

This documentry describes "Gehenna" as a trash dump outside Jerusalem - WTF? It is in fact a valley outside Jerusalem that was sacred to old gods semetic peoples worshipped before the hebrew religion developed and became dominant, gods like Baal Hammon, Astarte and Milquart, that are spoken of as devils or false gods in later religions. No doubt it is one of the inspirations for the modern concept of Hell, as children were sacrificed there by fire, so I can see every reason a religious man might call it a "trash dump" - but no reason a real historian would do so. Better to not mention it at all, than bring it up and lie about it. Has history channel lost it's sense of duty of keeping history accurate? As though modern beliefs give them the right to re-write history? I saw some similar stuff in a recent series of "ancient battles" made by history channel, where these shows proposed to examine battles based on bible stories, in some cases where not even the bible said there was a battle! "History" channel == religious propaganda channel, sad to see, Herodotus would be rolling in his grave.
