This is indeed the best cooking show (beats Top Chef and Hell's Kitchen..). You get six episodes every week (aired sunday through friday). First you have the Invention Test, followed by the Pressure Test Elimination in which the losers of the Invention Test day get to cook against each other and 1 goes home. The winner of the Invention Test gets to cook against the celeb in the Celebrity Chef Challenge. Finally you have the Team Challenge and the Elimination Challenge, in which the losers of the Team Challenge compete and 1 goes home. The Masterclass is aired last in the week! For me, the most interesting to watch was the Invention Test and the Pressure Test Challenge, the least interesting was the Masterclass!

I honestly wasn't sure what to expect when I started this. I saw a bunch of people on here saying it's way better than the Canadian and American versions of the show but I usually take comments like that with a grain of salt because it's usually not a Canadian or American saying that but this show is BY FAR the best version of Masterchef and imo the best cooking show ever made. You spend so much time with these people on their journey that by the end of the competition you really feel like you know these people. This show also throws the manufactured drama you usually see in North American Reality TV out the window. It's truly about learning and growing in the competition. Even as a viewer, if you're paying attention you will undoubtedly become a better cook. Especially watching the in-depth masterclasses this show has. The American version is usually a minute long demonstration where you learn nothing. This show dedicates an hour every week to the masterclass. I know I wrote a novel but I could seriously keep going with reasons why I love this show. Please give it a chance. It took me until the top 20 in season 1 to really be hooked but it's so worth it.

I'm happy it's back but if they start faking it out again like last season with St Georgia, I'm out.

There is such a goodwill and comradery to the Australian version of this show that is not found in the other countries versions. US may have the most popular chefs but it is such a cat fight. I love how helpful and caring everyone is. Plus herbs straight from the garden is brilliant.

What makes this show awesome is not just the great food but those 3 witty awesome hosts right there. I love the fact that in the midst of humor and quality entertainment, George, Gary and Matt keep it clear that this show is all about seriously awesome food. And thank God that I have a new episode to drool on every weekday! Love it :)

Watching season 7... anyone else really tired of all the Georgia pimping on the show? We get it, she's blonde and smiley and she'll get a cooking show, can we move on now?

For anyone who is considering watching this, just know that not only is it the best masterchef in the world in terms of food quality and content, it's also the best because of the awesome hosts. Also there is very little drama so it makes it all about the food. This is how cooking reality shows SHOULD BE! Good on ya mates! :P

2015, bring it on! I love this show. The Australian one is so much better than those of UK and USA (such a bitter backstabbing bunch in the US. I could only manage to put up with 7 episodes.). The skill level of the contestants is so very high. We have been waiting for it to hit Indian TV, me as much for a reminder of home and some Aussie accent as for the food. My husband even put down the game on his phone to watch and lay there with a huge smile on his face, enjoying it to the max. He can't wait to get out into the world and experience the culinary delights of countries other than his own and has declared that he would like to become a cook good enough to be a contestant himself. Master Chef AU, I don't think you realise how many people are reached and changed by watching this show.

i agree with people's comments! i love this show so much. I watched the American's season 1 and after that, I found out about this one on this very first site! 1st season! I have to say that this show is so much better than the American's. I'm in love with the hosts and I always fall in love with the contestants. Australian's seem so nice and they have great personalities.

This show is awesome because it gives people a new outlook on life. And if you think about it - what the contestants get is more or less an intensive and fun culinary education. They all need to study to stay in the competition, they need to learn from the chefs and they need to try and trust their guts. There is Taste Tests, the mystery boxes and invention tests which helps them explore how to combine flavors and develop recipes. During all that they learn to deal with stress and to work in Teams or stand their own on a Team. And as a viewer you can take a lot from it also.
