Great movie, character film with not much real action. Take it with a grain of salt thought, historically this film is about as accurate as the east is from the west. Gallipoli was not controlled by the British and the blame rests squarely on Australian commanders, also the British forces were not sitting on some beach sipping tea, but actually suffering heavy causalities w/ an attack on Sari Bair, not the British landing at Suvla as suggested in the movie. There was even two British brigades supporting the Aussie attack and they suffered heavy damages too. Like many movies, it has an agenda to fulfill instead of telling the real story. 7 out of 10 but but if historical accuracy counts on your book, you will give it much lower scores.

Pretty good war film, about a relatively unknown part of the Great War. All the focus always seems to be on France, but this film does a good job. Not much actual war fighting but the film is still excellent and tragic showing what a bloody waste the fighting was at times. Nice touch with the resentment of fighting a British war although the Australia was never threatened. Such a shame that there aren't many WW1 films.

One of the two movies they play on ANZAC day. This and Chariots of Fire. Still fairly good, even after 20 viewings.
