I think this was the best movie about the Normandy landings. "Come Winston".

I think the action and especially the effects in this film still look great, Obviously (considering the classified information at the time) not all the facts are there and of course the action is to a movie standard, I thought it done a good job of giving a basic but accurate look into WW2. 4/5

The word epic is thrown around too easily these days. This movie, this is truely what epic was created for. A cast of 20th century icons all playing small roles, from John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart too Richard Burton and Sean Connery (very early role, pre Bond). Epic!

Definitely a landmark epic film...an account from both sides,of the events leading up to and during the invasion on D-Day, June 6,1944.

Number one all time war film.plus an all star line up,the beach scenes are incredable to watch the whole film is spectacular to see no pomp or ceramony just following the facts as closely as they could at the time of making it (as some of the activites were and are still classified)even after all this time ANYWAY just sit back and enjoy the film its worth the watch

Cool old war movie. Lots of the actual peeps who helped fight...helped to make this movie possible. Back in it's hay day I'm sure it would of gotten a higher rating, but w/movies like Saving Private Ryan....I'll give it a modestly nostalgic 7/10 cus they left so many pivotal historical moments out. It's a total Hollywood version of what really happened-(even though they had excellent advisers!), but still worth a watch IMO~; )
