PSH is like the Tarantino of acting. I mean this in the sense that he brings his work to a eloquent form, almost like a higher form of artwork. Truly an inspiration for many.

Highly overrated in my opinion with a very low and amoral plot. I love Hoffmann as an actor, and he is incredibly versatile. But any "gay" role in Hollywood film instantly garners them awards and oscars. We've seen this to be true with Brokeback Mountain too when nominations were showered on the actors while other great movies didn't make the cut. I'm also really baffled at why so many people consider this to be superb acting in this particular movie. When I look at what exactly supports this, none of it makes any sense. But then again a lot of people love mainstream music too. Maybe I've just watched too many old classic movies with real acting. Save yourself the time and pass this one.

Mind blowing movie! One of the best things about Philip Seymour Hoffman was his ability to inhabit a role. This is among his best, although he did so many great ones that I couldn't say for sure which was the best. Very rare to catch him 'acting'. I so miss him. Rest in Peace forever.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman is incredible as Truman Capote, his acting alone is enough to watch this.

Amazing portrayal of Capote and his role in dealing with the criminal Smith. Very inside look at Capote and his writing of In Cold Blood. Watched this over and over. Acting is superb.

After having watched this movie, I had decided to read the actual book. And found this whole movie portrays about 15% of the book. If you want to get to know Truman Capote as a person, as lovely and brilliant as he was, go read the biography! It's incredible. One of my favorite movies and books. 10/10

I do not give a single shit if PSH does the PERFECT OMG FLAWLESS CAPOTE!!!11!1 This movie still sucks donkey balls because it so boring. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I fell asleep 4 times while watching this. For parts that I was awake for, most of them just showed how morally condescending Capote was, that is, when the movie didn't fixate on how unbelievably pretentious the 60s New York literary community was. It's one of those movies that you are recommended to by several of your friends only to watch it and find out all of your friends are idiots.

This movie has a great script, great cast and the acting by Philip Seymour Hoffmann as well as Clifton Collins Jr., who plays Perry Smith, was superb. There were some parts where my concentration slipped, but overall the portrayal of the bond that Capote and Smith form over the years was very well brought. Definitely worth a watch, 4/5 .

Better acting than Infamous. Hoffman has charisma, the actor in Infamous, though good, does not have charisma. Hoffman is god.
