I have to disagree with ndsn. This was a good movie and while some liberties were taken I really liked it. Ben Kingsley and his son were well cast and the way they tied the 9th legion together with the story of Arthur and the Pendragons was interesting. I am a history buff and was well pleased with the fact that Excalibur was actually named Caliburn which it was. It is a good watch.

Exceptionally well produced, acted, and scripted movie. I love Colin Firth and this was a perfect script for him; the charecter was an interesting, lively, passionate, loyal and quasi-historic figure and as such, this "part" developed into for one perfect role for CF. And little Caesar was so enjoyable, what a sweet child who acted well and utilized his very expressive face and regal demeanor to display true royalty way beyond his pubescent years. The cast as a whole just worked = near perfection in my humble opinion. Lastly, impressive does not begin to describe Capri, Italia remains one of my favorite countries, and the southern oceanside coast and islands are well represented in this phanominal presentation. I think you will enjoy this film; if you like this period in history or if you just want to watch a movie that will keep you interested while allowing your eyes to fully feast and drink in the beauty. 9/10

Finally, a really nicely researched historical flick, ironically, everyone seems to think it's story is far fetched, but I tell you what , it's actually a lot closer to truth than most if not all other Arthurian related films! At least Merlin (Ambrosinus) was Welsh (love everything Ben Kingsley does), Vortgyn (also known as Vortigern) was a British chieftain, Caliburnis IS probably where the word Excalibur comes from, and the time period was accurate, also there are myths about a so-called Lost Legion, that apparently went missing and perhaps in Britain.

Great Historical high budget, Dino De Laurentis re-enactment. Great cast; highlighted by Aishwarya Rai, Ben Kingsley, Colin Firth, Thomas Sangster, the child star as Romulus, was amazing, along with the cinematography from Italy to England. I really enjoyed it ... Thank you uploaders. From an entertainment point of view ... 9/10

Excellent movie - fun, entertaining. If you like this genre, I think you'll really enjoy this fine example. Lots of good people involved and has a historical base.

The saving grace of this movie was Aishwarya Rai who coupled her amazing dancing abilities and agility in a way that made her the only viable action-hero in this film with her fight scenes. Kudos to her, meh to the rest who could have tried harder.

Really good movie, awesome fight scenes. Very historical film and every little historical part in the movie was decently close to what actually happened. 8/10

Enjoyable with a hefty serving of cheeseyness (think I'll need some Gaviscon tonight), but overall it was a cast full of acting notables in a Sunday afternoon style historical adventure.

Very good movie - Well written story with action, adventure, heroes, villains and twists to entertain. The journey is the story, Tolkien would appreciate and render approval. Framing history with legends, stroking a rich gamut of locations while intoning prophetic prodding, etc. Nicely done! A solid 9.

I was pleasantly surprised to have found this sleeper. The film locations are great and the cast was well put together. Just remember that is a fantasy movie, enjoy!

Well, I thoroughly enjoyed that! It had a little magic in it to add interest, but not so much as to render it completely implausible, which I find is often the case in both movies and books these days. If you enjoy a medieval fantasy, you really can't go wrong with this one... I'm really glad I gave it a go and would recommend it to all. 9/10 from me.
