Hands down the best Batman movie yet thanks to the director, storyline, and actors. Heath Ledger really did a perfect job as the Joker in this film, RIP.

I always loved Marvel, and superheroes, but for yeears I was never big on the Flash or Superman or even Batman. Than there was a video in my Psychology class about the psychology of Batman and the villians, and after that video I told myself that I would sit down and watch a Batman movie. Finally did after almost amonth later. And the easiest way to put this is.... I LOVED IT! I have a new found respect for Batman. Now I may just have to go watch Superman movie too. This movie deserves a 10/10.

Being a huge fan of Batman, the movies were disappointing. To get an idea of my feelings for the Dark Knight, you have to understand my thoughts on the other movies. Batman (1989): HORRIBLE! Keaton did not portray Bruce Wayne right at all. While Nicholsons Joker was funny, he was TOO silly at times and couldn't be taken seriously enough. The story was boring and the acting put me to sleep. Batman Returns (1992): WTF Did I Just Watch?! When did Penguin become butt-ugly? Again, Keaton performs horribly as Bruce and Michelle Pfeiffer was this movies ONLY saving grace. Batman Forever (1995): Val Kilmer ad Bruce? Who in the hell thought that one up? He did do better than Keaton though. Carrey, while being an a-class actor, butchered Riddler. Jones did even worse to Two Face. Plus, Robins addition to the film was a bad idea. He was no better than in the comics. Batman and Robin (1997): NOT A SINGLE THING RIGHT ABOUT THIS MOVIE! Every actor in it was a horrible choice and they made Bane look like a brainless beefhead. It's clear Joel Schumacher never read a Batman comic in his life. Worst Batman movie EVER! Batman Begins (2005): WHAT IN THE BLOODY BLUE HELL!? Ok, now I'm really confused. Burton and Schumacher, both great directors, failed at Batman movies horribly. Then some guy I'd never heard of before comes in and creates a visionary masterpiece? Nolan made Batman the way he was supposed to be. Bale gave justice to Bruce Wayne's character, Michael Caine couldn't be touched as Alfred, Gary Oldman was PERFECT as Gordon, and Liam Neeson as Ra's Al Ghul? This movies cast must be a dream. It's too good to be true. Unlike every other Batman movie before it, this one cares to tell us how Bruce became Batman and learned his fighting abilities while introducing two of the comics most interesting villains who have not seen screen time before. The Dark Knight (2008): Heath Ledger will forever be remembered NOT for being in Brokeback Mountain, NOT for being in A Knight's Tale, and certainly NOT for being in the Brothers Grimm. He will ALWAYS be remembered for one role and one role only; THE JOKER! Unlike any Joker we've seen before, Heath created a psychopathic murderer who was intelligent as well as crazy. Bringing back Bale and Caine were obvious choices, as was replacing Katie Holmes with a talented actress in Maggie Gyllenhaal. The ONLY problem with the movie was that Two Face wasn't in long enough. If they had given him more screen time, this would be without a doubt the single greatest movie in! The single greatest piece of entertainment PERIOD! 10/10.

Ledger's performance is nothing short of astounding in this film. No wonder he had difficulty sleeping afterwards. This was less a performance than a possession. A cautionary exposition to young method actors; never go full psycho. Never.

you know.. I wasn't a fan at first- I thought this was an overrated film so I put off seeing it. But, it turned out to be the best Batman film and perhaps "superhero" movie that I've seen.

Left open for sequel that would never be, without heath as the joker would just be an insult. Best superhero movie iv ever seen, where the villain outshines the main star. 5/5

Fantastic Movie . The only criticism I would have is about Rachael . Being a Love interest of both Dent and Batman , and even with the Joker fawning over her and her Beauty , is just not believable at all ? I'm not trying to be mean , I just don't think many men would be that interested in her physical attributes . I'm not sure how she won this role ? I know she's Jake's sister but I find it hard to believe that's the only criteria needed .

This film is among my absolute favourite films. it's up there along with Amadeus, A Clockwork Orange, Brokeback Mountain and if.... Even if I loved Batman begins and enjoyed Rises, this really is far superior. Heath as Joker was the best part of this film, but I loved the film as a whole, definetley buying this on Blu-ray! It is so good! 10/10
