I thought this was really well done and a great reminder of how silent movies can convey a story with very limited input from the written words. Thanks whoever put the links up I really enjoyed this

What a tight, smart and thoroughly Lovecraftian film here! You should read The Call of Cthulhu before seeing this - in fact, you could almost read it at the same time, it hones that close to the source material. I even feel the recreation of a silent film works in this movie's favor. The cheesiness (and likely lack of a budget) play in its favor. 4/5.

First and foremost, this is a black and white silent film, meant to look like it was produced in the 1920s silent film era. Personally, I couldn't get into it and lost interest, but if you're looking for something different in an adaptation of the HP Lovecraft tale, here it is.

Saw this at a friend's house last week when we watched 5 or 6 lovecraft flicks he had compiled. Unlike all the other films I've seen with 'H.P. Lovecraft's' preceding the title, this one is actually true to the source material. Not only that but the makers pulled it off using a nice creepy atmosphere reminiscent of silent films from the 20's and 30's. Well done!

pretty good, I like when they try to follow the book as much as they can, not like other directors who change it a lot and add some personal ideas against the author's ones ***cough!*the lord of the rings***cough!***

This is by far the best story to screen adaption of anything I have seen before. It is pretty much how I imagined it to be in my head when I read the story. Well done!

Loved the way they made this movie! It's like watching something from Fritz Lang. Wonderful! And true to the short story, no doubt!

Being a long time reader of Lovecraft, I enjoyed this retro'd styled reenactment of bizarre encounters of Cthulhu. Its *almost* as I have pictured the being in my head. The production team did an amazing job recreating the silent film era "special effects".

My baby cousin's name is C'utlhou (Turkish). There are very few worthy films based on Lowecraft, and this is THE most true to the, let's face it, lame, but Genius rots!
