The Doctor is the best, I even have my 13 year old daughter hooked, now every gift she wants is Doctor Who related. I've created the best kind of Monster.... a scifi geek like mom....

This series is a Gem, but not a hidden one. A Gem half sticking out of the sand which everyone notices but most passer-by's are afraid to pick it up. Doctor Who is about friendship, love, hope, it shows that time is not just an enemy but also a friend. There is adventure and slapstick moments, the science is wibbly-wobbly but the entertainment value and the deeper layers behind the chars is wonderful. This series can be the saddest and the happiest and that is why I will always watch the Doctor, no matter what he looks like.

Only been watching this show since I was 4... that was 1977. I did sort of miss most of the 7th Doctor (Sylvester McCoy) as it wasn't carried over in the US in its entirety until just before the US Paul McGann movie was released. I've really liked all the Nu-Who Doctors, each bringing a new flavor and life to the series. Torn between Tennant and Smith as my favorite in the new series, much as I was between Tom Baker and Peter Davidson back in the old one. Capaldi reminds me of Pertwee, alot, but maybe a little darker and mad... I like Capaldi's ability to convey emotion with his expressions alone. I'll have to see where this is going for a bit to figure out where he falls for me...

I watched the very first doctor who episode when it was aired in 1963 when I was five years old and I've had a love affair with the doctor ever since. I can't say I'm a collector of memorabilia, that I never missed an episode or anything like that, but doctor who has been a constant during most of my life. There's really no other show like it and if you try to explain it to someone who's not familiar with it, it's very difficult because the show has always covered so much more than its basic premise. I've always loved the doctor and the new incarnation of the show is just marvellous - I was so very glad when they resurrected it and I have the hope that there will be generations of people, who, like me, will love having this wonderful show as a part of their lives.

My dad was a computer nerd and loved this show. I would watch it with him on PBS as a little kid, so I don't mind new Doctors or ages so much. It is such a cool idea! It is one of my earliest memories thanks to him. I started watching again with the new series and it has been worth it. I love this show.

I think that the doctor himself is alright, I will always miss Matt, but I can also seeing myself growing to like Peter as the new doctor. However, as many people point out, The story plots are not written as well, and this season could of been so much greater. They tried to do too much in too little time and the season ended up not reaching its potential. The Missy/Master ordeal (just to name 1) could have been drawn out into a season, rather than really just a few episodes, and that whole cybermen thing was just confusing and seemed like a moment where the writers released they went a bit overboard, but couldn't be bothered to fix it, so they just made up some bullshit excuse to end the story. I hope they are able to do better next season.

If you love this show, then I strongly recommend Chameleon Circuit. They're a band who make music specifically about Doctor Who. It's not for everyone and I know that, but don't knock it till you've tried it.

David Tennant was a good Doctor, but so where a lot of others. People said the same thing 20 years ago, "it won't be the same with a new Doctor"...but they are wrong. Each new Doctor has always brought their own personality to the character, which keeps the show fresh. Matt has not only understood this, but has accomplished it flawlessly. I am a massive Doctor Who fan, and I can't wait to see what is in store.

I think the new doctor (its actor) could work out, except that Steven Moffat is a complete shit writer. -Spoilers!- Hes got all the class of a cartoon writer (clocks in the intro of a Time Travel Series. Cliche much?) Then suddenly Clara gets a call from the doctor, from Trensilore, saying to be good to the new doctor. WHEN HE DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS GOING TO REGENERATE! Then he implies the prior doctor "chooses" what he regenerates into. Also, apparently the tardis made him a scot, with no explanation other than "Im scottish now" and its supposed to be a joke somehow? I guess like the Fezz thing was? He cant even keep the Doctors personality the same! S8E1, he is "weird and random". S8E2, he is heartless and doesnt mind casualties all that much. E5, he is sad about casualties. And what the hell was with E7? That ending, seriously? Some newborn space monster lays an egg and flies away? What a mess.

Britain needs to be proud, the longest running sc fi show in history, epic doesnt cover this, its not the very best but by god i wouldnt begrudge those who argue it is, it forever a contender up there with battlestar, trek, sg1 you name it

OK so whoever has set this up has really messed up. First off there is no series 8 yet we are still on series 7 the 1st episode of series 7 asylum of the darleks aired September 1st and the 2nd episode dinosaurs on a spaceship aired September 8 the 3rd will air on September 14Th. So anyone who can fix this please remove everything under series 8 and again there are only two episodes so far in series 7 and the air dates are completely wrong
