A very heart wrenching film. Difficult to see this woman's life virtually fall apart, as she loses the ability she basically lived for and thrived upon, when her illness, multiple sclerosis worsens, in addition to friends, family and the like leaving her on her own. These departures feel more like people deserting her, and aren't directly related to her, but they all add to her sense of uselessness. Well played by Julie Andrews. Max von Sydow deserves more credit as the psycho therapist. Alan Bates is excellent as always - his role was slightly creepy for me - the unfaithful husband, despite being encouraged by his wife (an odd too concept - is she pushing him away from her?). Rupert Everett is always entertaining. A good cast all round!

Julie Andrews tries hard - and even shows her breasts - but this dour film doesn't live up to her efforts!
