I cannot understand how I ever missed this film. First time watch for me and I was very much in my prime when it was released. A very good film. Must be one of the first war films made that provided a twist on the emotional side of war. Can't think of too many earlier than the 90's that played heavily on that angle. If you've never seen this film, do yourself a favour. Pull up a comfy chair and enjoy :-)

What an amazingly underrated film. Not everything that happens in war is bad and it shows us that we don't always necessarily choose violence over peace, even in times of war. Good visuals and well acted, hardly any action but, the story made up for it. 9/10

Excellent movie, drama, humor, action, camaraderie throughout. The end note about mother was very interesting. No spoiler :) Enjoy!

This was an extremely good movie. It's a little slow at first, but a very good and original story. 8/10
