3/5 Pretty entertaining western/sci-fi oldie. If John Carpenter had made a western, I think it probably would have turned out just like this. Yul's character reminds me of Michael Myers in so many ways. And I'm glad they won't be remaking a film version of this, as they shouldn't.. because of Yul Brynner's performance. His austere presence in this movie could never be topped by anyone on the big screen. But they(Hollywood)are remaking it into a tv series, which is currently being made by JJ Abrams and Jonathan Nolan (Chris Nolan's brother) and it's going to be on HBO next year. I can't wait to see that!

"In some cases, they were even designed by other computers. We don't know exactly how they work". An excellent warning of the dreary consequences of creating robots which are just TOO successfully built. 5/5

Ok so just watched this since there is a remake tv-series coming up. Pretty interesting concept though it has a few flaws. I liked the movie and the last part where the guy is chased by the gunslinger really reminded me of Terminator. I'll give this movie a 4/5. (Also James Brolin really looks like a mix of Christian Bale and his son Josh Brolin. I think the show can take this concept to another level, especcialy with a cast like that. :)

Loved it! I'm not a big fan of older movies, but this one was unexpectedly superb for its time! I thoroughly enjoyed watching it- it's a very underrated movie, in my opinion. Everything was great (particularly the acting, the narrative, and the soundtrack) except for the relatively short duration and the ending (which was slightly anticlimactic and corny). One of the main characters (moustache guy's friend) really reminded me of Christian Bale. Westworld is a great cautionary tale about depending too much on technology for entertainment. 4 stars

A great concept and i really appreciate and liked the way it's directed and executed. It wasn't a cheesy or simple 70's sci fi movie. This was well thought of with good direction and the storyline was very interesting.

I forgot how much I loved this movie. Interesting view of the future from the 70's. I remember the first time I watched this as a child I hoped when I got older a resort like this would be possible. I'm still waiting.

Loved both this and the Futureworld movie. Can still "mostly" remember seeing this for the first time as a child and just setting off days of imagination of the fun that could be had... Would love to go to West WOrld and Roman Worlds to just battle it out for days on end (be even more fun if I could take my two favorite pistols with me, even though it would break the 'theme'.. altho the 357 Magnum would still sort'a fit in, the PT99 with 38 round mags would surely stand out LMAO). Actually came back to DL/watch these again after conversation about how someone would prefer these over the Star Trek's holodeck and being in that future time... I took issue with that. A.) literally ANY idea you had would be ok in the holodeck, no manufacturing. B.) it would be free as opposed to bankrupting you and C.) As a person with a destroyed hip (actually 2) - medical bay in ST would be so much better than spending the next 1.5 years living in hell on this planet LOL SOrry for long post - just a long-time fan of these...

you would almost think Michael Crichton had something agasint theme parks, i mean first this, then Jurassic Park lol..when the rest of us were kids having the occasional nightmare, his nightmares must have been about killer clowns at the fair or whatever else bad can happen at any theme park lol..either way, he wrote some pretty cool books that were made into movies. I remember seeing this as a kid, of course at that age i had no idea it was based ona book or who wrote it, but finding out he wrote this as well as one of my all time faves, Jurassic Park, it sure makes me appreciate his talent all that much more. 9/10 for originality and thrills!

Remember watching on the movie of the week at home , must've been around 9 or 10 thinking how awesome and futuristic the tech was . A micro-sensor in the revolver yet still using Giant tape reel computers and shoving pieces of a radio circuit board in the dead snake with it's mouth spray painted silver . But , at the time . Now I wonder about the 10 year olds watching sci-fi today and can only imagine what will be state of the art for them 30 years from now considering the leap from this to The Matrix or Ex Machina for example . HBO brought me here feeling nostalgic , I'm sure I'm not the only one . Thanks to the up-loaders for this fun blast to the past !

Great concept. Written and directed by the same man who wrote Jurassic Park. This film has a similar message to it.
