I always thought of Rosemary's Baby as being the ultimate statement about how frustrating a woman's place in society has been for a long time. The entire movie emphasizes Rosemary's suboordination to her husband's career (the most salient plotline of the movie), his opinions, the opinions of her doctors etc. This movie was a chance to push the envelope to the point where she is ultimately asked: If your husband tricked you into having the devil's child so he could have career advancement would you keep the son of satan to make him happy? Also love Ruth Gordon in this movie. These days I really watch it for her.

This 1968 Roman Polaski classic is one of the few films that ever actually gave me the shivers. It was beautifully directed, production values were top notch & Mia Farrow, to me, WAS Rosemary. It's also one of the few book-to-screen adaptations that I felt did justice to the book. (Written by Ira Levin) Rosemary starts out as such a young, innocent, naive waif of a girl. As the story unfolds, you can't help but wonder if she will actually survive the ministrations of her 'concerned' neighbours and 'doting' husband. This is a classic that has stood the test of time and I highly recommend it to all fans of the genre. 5/5 stars. (Added to my 'From Page To Screen' playlist.)

Great Supernatural classic. One of very few films that actually stays true to the book it was adapted from. Has stood up to the test of time as it continues to be popular amongst fans of this genre. A very worthy watch. 5/5 stars. (Added to my 'From Page To Screen' playlist.)

I've always considered myself to be a old movie or classic movie buff, that being said Rosemary's Baby is one of those classics, but for my taste it is not one of my favorites. I would not call this a Horror film, however a mystery maybe. I don;t know what genre of film to categorize this one,,great acting and a great cast and a great story line. To each his own as the saying goes

A slow burning horror mystery drama. But one you can't look away from as soon as you find yourself locked in to the story. If you don't know what happens in this film then don't read spoilers just watch it!

More than just a film and if you know what i mean by that, you will also see a sign which was very clever and the way it was shot made it so clear yet at the same time hidden.

Very eerie and creepy. Honestly one of the best horror movies out there and definitely in the top 3 Satanism/witchcraft films of the ones that I've seen. Only 4/5 stars though because it was a little long and slow and Rosemary is such an irritating twit :)
