It was okay... people cutting themselves does not bother me, and not overly graphic, more intended to be an emotional piece. In that sense I think it failed a bit... was great until the halfway point. If it had taken the premise to a different level I think it would have been fantastic. It stopped making sense at a point and became muddled/unengaging, mostly because there was no reason given for the increase and the dramatic final sequence was unclear and vague. The basic premise IS very clear, and I think the reasoning behind action is sound until the second half of the film (or the last third)... a bit too open ended for me. But good up until the last few sequences, 7/10.

4 / 10 Watched it whole way through, was very tiresome. i agree that there isnt anything thought provoking in the movie. its just following a womans descent into dermatophagia. there is no meaning to the movie, just chronicling the day to day of a woman with a severe disorder. no point does she look like she thinks shes beautiful from it or receiving pleasure from it, just her compulsion. im french so i dont read the subtitles and so i dont miss any scene or look or quick shot to add to the scene that may happen ( and obviously hearing it and knowing what they say and how it was said )this movie doesnt have that. its bland and quite boring. like watching " my strange addiction " but for over an hour .... on 1 person. not going to recommend this movie to anyone unless you like movies that depict a mental illness.

Awful. I'm sorry that I don't find anything beautiful , deep meaning or art in this. I see someone needing some serious help. Looks like the start of serial killing cannibal. Nothing numb about that. Self mutilation is a cry for help IMO.

got some very cringy moments in it even though you want to look away you cant bit slow to begin with not as gory as people made it out to be but still a good film

Wow. Imagine feeling so numb that you would do this to yourself. Disturbing, but well done. I wish it wouldve given more background as to how she came to that point. We know the trigger but not her life before that.

Very intense. Even if you want to look away you can't. This movie does not underestimate the viewer and I thank the director for that. Beautiful and brutal, depraved but empowering...9/10

I love this film, some people could see it as unnecessary and gruesome but it's actually very powerful and thought-provoking, if you take the time to look at it on a closer level. She becomes obsessed with self-mutilation because it makes her feel alive and beautiful, the rest of the time she's numb, so it gets increasingly worse. It's definitely one to add to the dvd collection. 5/5

Not blood and gore disturbing but still a bit disturbing in a mental health disorder type way 4/5

well the french cinema yet again living upto its expectations for me. Intense and captivating, the concept of sadism and masochism are well knit with a plot. The main female actor gets hedonistic pleasures while inflicting pain upon herself and sometimes indulging herself to self cannibalism. Really shows how sometimes you can consume yourself, while remaining completely normal. Its not a slasher, a concept very well presented and a must watch.

Oh wow! Don't watch this for the blood and gore...you will hate it. Watch it instead for the deeper meaning and symbolism. Don't get me wrong, this movie will make you squirm and some might even be repulsed by the main character's actions, but it does have meaning!! The basic synopsis just barely scratches the surface of what this film is about. Strangely beautiful, haunting and quite a bit disturbing. Loved it!
