It's listed as a TV show because it aired on TV. It was a mini-series. Great flick, not as good as the book, but what show/movie ever is? About to rewatch it for at least the 7th time.

As one of the biggest King fans in the world, and The Stand being my favorite of his books, I have only one thing negative to say about this miniseries; the actors' scripts did not do the characters justice. King created some very in-depth characters for this novel and they just couldn't be represented adequately in the relatively short amount of time from the start to the finish of the show. They should have made this a series, maybe two or three seasons long. That might have been enough screen time to begin to do the book justice. If you watched this and liked it, read the book. You will be amazed.

I am a HUGE fan of SK's books, and I must say this didn't disappoint. It may not have been the exact true vision that King had in his novel, but it was very entertaining, frightening, gripping and well-rounded. It's a shame that he and Hollywood have come together to make a much shorter actual theatrical movie. Release date to be announced. I'm not sure if I will be going to see it when it comes out.

I love this series. I remeber watching it when it was on tv as a child. It might be old but give the story a chance. It will definitely make you think.

I'm a huge Stephen King fan and 'The Stand' is my 2nd favourite novel of his. As I've said before, some of his books adapt well to the screen; others not so much. I thought that this two time Primetime Emmy winner was a very worthy effort and was well done as a mini-series; as let's face it: King books aren't known for being short and sweet and as such the film adaptations generally need a longer format than the typical 2 hour movie. I really enjoyed Rob Lowe as Nick Andros, Ruby Dee as Mother Abigail Freemantle and Ossie Davis (December 18, 1917 to February 4, 2005) as Judge Richard Farris; they were all absolutely wonderful! And, let us not forget the wonderful little cameo by Stephen King, himself, as Teddy Weizak. This was a wonderful and suspenseful, story driven film, with great writing, terrific casting and production values. A must see for fans of Stephen King's films. 4.5/5 stars. (Added to my 'From Page To Screen...' playlist.)

I love this film, I know It's in sections and it's classed as a tv show on here. I've always viewed it as a film.....A very long film. I just hope hollywood doesn't feel the need to update it. It will be ruined otherwise.

I watched all four mini-movies; would give it a 3/5. The best thing about all of it was Gary Senise and Molly Ringwald.

I think this is my favorite Stephen King movie of all time. It is well rounded with parts of horror and drama. Gotta love the King of horror hehehe.
