death is a taboo subject but this movie explores the aspect really well giving a different perspective on what everyone is afraid to speak about. The main theme of this movie is loss, wheather its death, his father abandoning him as a child or his wife leaving him. I think everyone can relate to his struggles one way or the other.

Wow. Just wow. What a superb, wonderful film. Very emotional, you'd want to be made of rock not to have this film touch you. 10/10

Departures didn't win an Oscar for nothing! Skillful acting, breathtaking cinematography, smooth storytelling. Made me cry at least 7 times with breaks in between... I don't know how that happened. x)
