Being familiar with the game, it was surprise to find out that 1) it was based on a novel that would count as a prequel, and 2) it was well thought out and drove home the originality of such a villain living within us. Unlike the game, this is more tame and has no need for action and bullets blazin'...not that there's anything wrong with that :0). It's just that in here, it give a more scientific (yet easy to understand) approach to the series' overseas (in many ways) origin and climax, and also shows that, as cheesy as it sounds, love conquers all. It is a little slow at first, but there are things that keep your interest, so yes, it really is a good watch, even if you're not a fan of the game, or didn't know it was a game at all. It's a rare find, but it's worth a try even once :)

For those of you who hope this is like the game sorry to tell you its not this is about the incident Maeda talks about in the game that took place in Japan before the New York incident. this movie also came out before the games making the games sequals to the ooriginal story.

Toshiaki Nagashima is a biologist who is doing major research on mitochondria. When his beautiful young wife is tragically involved in a car accident which leaves her brain dead, in desperation he steals her liver from her body in order to receive the mitochondria from it to resurrect his wife from the dead. The killer mitochondria takes the form of his assistant who then uses the biologist for the host of a terrifying new species that is threatening to take over the world.

I loved this movie, It's my first japanese movie to watch. I love the games and been fan of them since the very beginning and I watched this movie last month and totally LOVED it. It does feel a bit slow at times but overall it's really good, yes I WISH it had anything to do with Aya Brea from the Parasite Eve game franchise but it doesn't yet still it succeeds in making me a huge fan of the film as well not just the games :) The only disadvantage is the length of the movie, I had hoped that there will be more about the 'cause'. we had a pretty good, lengthy introduction yet the parts where we're umm IN ACTION ended so fast. but after all it's good. 9/10 to be fair

I thought the premise was really interesting, but none of it came together well. Too many plot holes and implausibilities. The movie is very slow moving on top of that.

The youtube one is only 10 minutes long; I'm sure the megavideo one works great but I don't have a subscription.
