This true story of an inside federal agent, MADE in the mob. Real name JOE PISTONE. As of two years ago officially out of witness pertection. What a life to have lived, but sad to say will probably eventually end up dead. Either way good movie....... 3.5 out of 5 stars

Great movie about the mafia lifestyle and the things that men have to sacrifice to get a certain amount of respect. Al Pacino was perfect in this. His character was so sympathetic and his acting was really good. One of his best. Johnny Depp was equally great. It's not easy to match the legend's acting,so to have performed solidly infront Pacino shows how talented Depp is.

One of the greatest biographical movies ever made. And definitely in the top 5 of "Best Gangster Movies of the Century." Al Pacino is at his best here. And just listening to Pacino talk about random things keeps you glued to the set. Not one dull moment in the picture. The bonus is you really get an education on how the Mob operates and how the slang they use to address each other. Put it this way, the hero lawman, whose life this was based on has a $500,000 contract on his head forever! Might be an interesting watch...yuh think!!!? This movie is not only engrossing but should make all of us realize... that if one man can do so much, how can the average man do so little? I'd give anything to spend one day in a room with him picking his brain. Too bad so many teens in today's "sick" society emulate Scarface and Tupac and look up to gang bangers when men like "Donnie Brasco" have more bravery than any 50 men put together. I wish I saw this movie when I was in my 20's, I would have gotten into a career like this and contributed so much to society. America needs thousands more Donnie Brasco's. God bless you, wherever you are, and thank you for doing so much to help keep America safe.

A tense and compelling Mafia thriller with strong performances from Al Pacino and Johnny Depp, the supporting cast also does very well. This film is gritty, real and totally engrossing, it has characters the audience deeply sympathizes with. 'Donnie Brasco', based on true facts, is a story you won't soon forget. Worth a watch... 9/10

It's quite entertaining, but nowhere as good as GoodFellas and/or The Godfather 1&2. 8/10
