I'm Salma's fan, but this movie didn't cut it for me. It could have a better impact if it weren't for the sadness and bitterness. There are loosen stories about her past and the present, what happened to the neighbour? I'm not convinced about this one, and it has all the things I feel strongly about, veganism/vegeterianism, a stand against imperialism and animal cruelty, shallowness and emptiness of today's society. It's not a comedy!

BILLIONARE Salma Hyek trying to "act" as an em-path is hilarious and a prime example of 2 traits that actors possess as a means of expression and it is always one or the other. They are Empathy OR Narcissism. 1/10

this is a wonderful film that explores social class and karma. if you relate with the dinner guests you may never want to understand the complexity of this storyline. if you believe in karma this film will give you a somewhat higher understanding. Five out of Five.

This is the story of a healer/empath overwhelmed by the callous cruelty of the world. Not sure what writer Mike White is saying with the ending. That those who feel for others are not cut out for this world, at all? In any case, this is a film worth seeing. The class division theme exposes the usual wounds, nothing unfamiliar, but serves here to make a point about differences in class perspectives and thereby choices made. It's not an easy story to fit neatly into a box, but I found it thought provoking. And sad.

Yeah, theme of social class division is obvious but the other spiritual theme is too complicated to see

I found the story complicated, as if two or more storylines were overlapped. 23 minutes in and I was really connecting to the theme with the division of people and social class, but Beatriz's story felt deeper. When the end came I was thinking to myself that there must be something I missed.
