Good grief this classic is rated only 3 stars on Primewire. Come on people this is great stuff, magic you don't often find in today's movies. 9/10 stars here. Romantic story to remember.

A great story of an extraordinary woman and her trials in loving and keeping the man of her life. Most women nowadays have no idea the great influence and power they could have in a man's life. Consequently, they resort to manipulation and tactics that earns them nothing but resentment from their man and undermine what could be a mutually loving and nurturing relationship. As Paula's tale suggests, love, trust, devotion, loyalty, patience, faith and diplomacy are what is needed. With a woman like Paula, any man would remain devoted and loyal to his woman and end up conquering the world. So the movie is not about Charles because it is Paula's story that defines the whole show.

It's a shame Ronald Colman didn't win the Oscar for this, he gave a great performance in this 1942 drama/romance film, with a good performance from Greer Garson. 4/5. Thank you uplinkers.

I watched this on TCM, on the television. I enjoyed it very much. A pretty simple plot, and very predictable, but it was still great! Very good acting, and entertaining enough. Well worth seeing!
