I had to look at the information pages for this movie several times to make sure I had read it right, because from the production, casting, writing, performances, etc. you'd never guess this movie was done for a competition and film festivals. Several people in the comments had said they wished the creatures were less muppet like and more scary even though they've also said how nice it was seeing practical effects being used over CGI. Personally the creatures from this remind me of the ones from the old TV series ''Earth 2'' and I don't think they necessarily needed to be scary looking. The writer/director took a very interesting non-linear approach to the sequences in the movie which allowed him to forgo the typical flashback sequences and instead use a more literary chapter approach found in many books, which interesting enough the movie is also broken into chapter segments. Overall it's a surprisingly good movie that definitely beats out anything that's come from Hollywood as of late and I personally would be very interested in a continuation of the story. This movie definitely goes to show you don't need a huge budget, big name stars, and a ton of CGI to make a well rounded quality Sci-fi movie these days.

I liked this, especially the ending. Solid cast with a good script. Little down time too. If you like sci-fi give this one a chance.

Stupid backward movie

While not the most original plot and certain aspects of the action scenes were a little hammy. There were some twists. I also liked the characters and thought they were interesting. 3.8 stars out of 5.

Very good movie! I cant wait to see the rest of them all! Definitely worth a second watch , nothing else this year has been worth a second watch. So I would say that's pretty damn good.

A surprisingly good lil scifi flick. It's kinda funny how even the c list actors look like a list celebrities. The dogfight in the beginning is great. But. There's still those moments. Like how the hero pilots a fighter without a helmet but the bad guy in THE SAME SHIP has a flight suit and helmet. Its like really good ice cream but periodically the cold hits a sensitive tooth.

Talk about a bad experiment gone wrong! Was okay for a one time watch.

I always wonder were the 'votes' come from with a movie like this. Only one review, no IMDB rating nor Rotten Tomatoes yet it has 16 votes at the time of reading this.

I found it too chatty and lacking action. I could not finish.

A very well done movie. Was happily surprised and will be adding this to my favotites. Not often I can say with all honesty I found a gem.

Nice little hidden gem. Kept my attention rapt throughout and everyone involved acted the sh!t outta their roles! Granted the monsters could've looked better, but it was actually really refreshing to see practical creature effects for a change. In all, if this is the beginning of a series (as the title suggests), can't wait for volume 2! 4/5
