Fool's Gold The Story of the Brink's-Mat Robbery: A dramatized speculation of what happened in November 1983 when Micky McAvoy and some of his mates planned a heist and were surprised when they discovered they'd stumbled across a large stash of gold. But getting the gold away without getting caught is only the beginning of their troubles. Realizing the riches the gold represents is difficult, and honor among thieves may only be a myth.

Well done. I learned about Brinks Mat through a NG documentary on gold and followed up with a bit of simple research on the subject. The movie is good, not an action drama but a very good reenactment of a complex story. Good acting. An interesting robbery.

The characters in this film speak with heavily cockney accents. So, if you don't like or understand it, this may not be the movie for you. If you do like English movies it's not bad. I liked it because it's based on actual events. It is somewhat low budget with a bonus of being early in Sean Bean's career. Well acted and well put together. I give it a 6 of 10.
