After watching this film, I honestly think in the case of most child offenders, that the blame lies mostly with the parents and the environment they are raised in. Children are very impressionable also, and peer pressure plays a big role as well. I think ostracizing these kids just makes it worse. Some of them maybe were just part of the wrong crowd, and some needed psychiatric help, which is where the parents should have come in and gotten the child the help they needed. If a child is not raised to know the difference between right and wrong, then why are they to blame? They are not, their parents are. I had just read about the Bulgar case, and I was horrified, thinking what most seem to think, that those children deserved life in prison or worse, but after watching this movie, my mind has somewhat changed. Their had to be something wrong with those kid's home life or mental state to do such a thing, and yet from what I've read, no blame was placed on the parents. Anyways, I think the acting was superb, especially Garfield. This was a real tear jerker for me, and honestly it broke my heart.

I did enjoy the movie - but if it is based on john venables who was boy A in the james bulger murder, I feel it is all wrong, as it dose not accurately portray the events at the time, or after, it is set up to give sympathy to the offender, using completly distorted information. I think because of that the film is not publicized as being based on the Jamie Bulger case, and in that case I do not feel it was right to make, you cant half make a film on half a story of such magnitude. If I had not known it had anything todo with Jamie Bulger, I would have given it a 9/10 great british movie but I am torn due to the subject matter

I saw this movie in the cinema five years ago, didn't even know what was the synopsis. MIND BLOWN. One of the movies which touch me the most EVER, I still remember the entire plot. Andrew Garfield is so talented in this movie!

Freakin' amazing movie. For people who think about and understand other people. A very interesting film which shows things from the "bad" guy's point of view, and challenges the viewer to ask questions about guilt & redemption. Andrew Garfield is in top form, as usual. If you liked "Dead Man Walking," check out this one.

This movie fucked me up. It's extremely hard not to sympathise with any character Andrew Garfield and his incredibly expressive face play but with Jack, there's not even a reason for you not to.

Excellent film from a viewpoint we don't usually get to see. Also a very sad film though :(. If you liked this one I would also recommend the Scandinavian film Troubled Water http://www.primewire.ag/watch-1393923-Troubled-Water

good movie with an interesting plot, personally, it had me questioning my preconcieved notions about children that commit violent and mindless crimes.

I found this to be a great movie, Andrew Garfield, as always is amazing. I have watched so many of his movies, and prior to last month I didn't even know who he was. He is becoming one of my favorite actors, I don't believe there is any "type" of film, he couldn't do. Great movie.

Was it bad that i cried for him? Am i wrong for thinking everyone deserves a second chance regardless of their actions in the past?....Stunning performances all round but fairly disturbing subject. 10/10

This was a powerful, hard hitting, emotional ride. It certainly brings to attention that the government need to construct a better system for rehabilitating child criminals.

Absolutely love this movie and fell in love with AG's acting and his boyish character in the film. Glad to see that he and other actors from across the pond who are excellent, are starting to be noticed... eg. AG and Tom Hardy...liked him way before his "breakout performance" in Inception. Anyone ever hear of a movie called Bronson? lol
