Snake Salvation: In the hills of Appalachia, Pentecostal pastors Jamie Coots and Andrew Hamblin struggle to keep an over-100-year-old tradition alive: the practice of handling deadly snakes in church. Jamie and Andrew believe in a bible passage that suggests a poisonous snakebite will not harm them as long as they are anointed by Godís power. If they donít practice the ritual of snake handling, they believe they are destined for hell. Hunting the surrounding mountains for deadly serpents and maintaining their churchís snake collection is a way of life for both men. The pastors must frequently battle the law, a disapproving society, and even at times their own families to keep their way of life alive.

Every one needs something to believe in. Be it in snakes or Jesus or that tomorrow might be a better day. I wont take up a snake but I give them credit for their belief and desire to have fellowship with like minded people.

Im glad there's kooky people out there like this. The music in their church is kinda cool, its like psychedelic rock or something. They seem like a fun bunch of rednecks to experience. I'd hang out with them, I probably wouldn't need to get around a snake, but I would sure as shit watch them do it.
