Wow! I just watched a nearly hour and a half long infomercial for the paleo diet. My favorite part? When they were in the grocery store and one of them talks of how fruits and vegetables are something to be careful of because of all the pesticides sprayed on them. And that was after he finished praising meat neglecting to mention all the hazards from the hormones and medications present in that. Well done infomercial, but I won't be buying what they're selling.

There is something strange about the belief that an animal diet would have led to the development of a higher intellect in humans: Why did carnivores like e.g. Panthera not develop likely abilities? It definitely would have been an evolutionary advantage for them as it (seemingly) is for humans. Also, brain size is not a determining factor. There are several animals that have much larger brains than humans. Are they therefore smarter? Obviously not. Brain size is mostly related to body size, not intellect.

This is probably the most valuable documentary I had pleasure to watch. I already knew most of it from Jean Carper book where she also states that our diet has very little to do with what our ancestors eat. In fact 70 % of what we currently eat is potentially harmful to out health.

This is hilarious! They say that Neanderthals ate correctly, yet we evolved into "Modern Humans" which is bad. So if we eat like the Neanderthals, will we evolve back into Neanderthal looking humans again? LOL! Fact is that people have been eating the Paleo-Diet AND were "Modern Humans" all through-out history. Just as the Tribal people didn't evolve or de-evolve ... neither did the Neanderthal (if there was ever such a thing).

[email protected].. What do cows eat naturally? Grass. What are cows fed today? Grain (typically in the form of corn and wheat) and their fellow cows in the form of bi-products from process. As a result of this diet, for cows, they become sick. Similar to how he made that correlation with the human diet. How do you treat an illness typically? Antibiotics to treat most bacterial infections. Anything they cannot treat with modern antibiotics isn't treated. The animals are slaughtered and burned to prevent spread to healthy meat that can be kept and raised to yield. As for the hormones. They have become common practice in the "factory farm" industry. It's common behavior in those types of settings because they yield the highest profits for the smallest invested capitol. I try to be unbiased when it comes to giving a comprehensive opinion about something. As far as I can tell this guy's just a bad actor. I wouldn't crucify his ideals just because the guy comes off a bit stiff. You are right, I suppose, as far as him giving praise to meat that probably isn't treated the best. Although, that was just a superficial enactment of going shopping. Not to mention the other man standing next to him was selecting. I don't recall either of them reading the label to find out of it was locally raised without any antibiotics or grass fed. Those are both VERY labeled options. So, use a little bit of common sense when it comes to your shopping. There are quite a few resources at your disposal. Google local butchers. Ask a question or two. What's it going to harm. If you're watching this documentary in the first place you obviously have inquiries about your health and conversely your fitness. Don't just flame something you only took fleeting glance at and decided it wasn't right for you. You only muddy the water for everyone else who might find this compelling. As for me, I liked it. 5/5

I am a huge believer in ancestry dictates diet. My children are indigenous to my country and if left on a lean protein fruit and green diet they are perfect as i expect most people would be, Introduce the cream bun and they all get fat stomachs and the girls get fat thighs, bums and stomach. My family were irish, we didn't use potatoes, we used wild wheat and animal milk and meat, our bodies were built to climb hills and deal with the cold. Trying to get me to a perfect body has been impossible, once body fat is reduced, i gain muscle no matter how soft my exercise is. my legs are strong and my shoulders get big. We have a multicultural group and their different diets work for them. but give rice to my kids and they will get fat.

Great documentary...Although they provided such convincing information some will still question it. Because many are still programmed to believe Grains mean healthy due to the gov't propoganda and that pyramid. They push grain & sugar because there is so much money to make off of it. Big Business runs the Politicians/Gov't. Change only happens when the masses wake up on an issue and scream for it

I didn't know about paleo diet, and my way of eating untill I grow up was about that. I consumed way more cereal as it would recommend. I also consumed milk. I can say it is a likeable way of living. Grown up I tryed veganand raw diet for a while, like one year I think. I like them. I owe them a big Thank you for letting me know how to live milk free. I think that there is much more to nutrition that a documentary can solve. Anyone should get involved in his/her own researches. I think living without bread is a great advice. I always left it away, but I got teeth and bone problems, which I know wonder seriously if all that pain could be spared by not eating milk and dairy. Eating is health. Choose wisely, do your researches.
