Unfortunately human beings as a species are greedy and cruel. Do not expect any world leaders to be any different. Thank you so much to Oliver Stone and Peter Kuznick for making this show and writing the book. More respected film and tv makers need to use their voices to similar affect. All american teens should be shown this in school. As a Brit we see a much more unbiased view of the world, though of course still only what they want us to see, at least in the main stream.

I dunno who Winston Smith is exactly but it's obvious to me that this series has political undertones. I can see why people are getting censored if in fact thats happening. I can also see why this stuff isn't in textbooks, who wants to tell the kiddies that Russia won the second world war when we can brag about ourselves? And i disagree with good old Jimmyhat about the first episode being worthless. Its not common knowledge that Russia lost 20-27 million people, many of which were civilians. And the first episode hints that the U.S. and Great Britain stalled on purpose so that Germany and Russia had adequate time to kill each other. Also something else that isn't widely known. Watch this series from the beginning to get its full effect... Even as a Democrat, i recommend this series.

Stone's been getting a lot of shit because of the book and now documentary, funny things is that the people criticizing just say it's not true but never present any alternative version or what they based their accusations on

Wow, this show is dense with information. As an admirer of Stone's work, I know he is as much of a historian as he is a filmmaker, and proud of that. I believe he does present the facts (what actually happened), but also offers some educated guesswork at times into the hidden motives of world leaders. But the "when, where, who, what" I'm betting is historically factual. Any doubters, do your own research. I'm sticking w/Stone.

For the great majority of mankind are satisfied with appearances, as though they were realities, and are often more influenced by the things that seem than by those that are.

Very interesting information, very thought provoking. Some of the topics made me rather emotional when watching them. Seems very much like the Kenneth Davis' set of popular book series' "Dont know much about"; the idea that we learn the bare minimum in schools, which in turn make a very uneducated voting population. Though Stone's politics are well known, the presentation style here still is well done.

Absolutely brilliant. As a history fan, this answers many questions, some that i had not even thought of yet. Revisionists beware, it is not the rainbow + puppy dog tail history you are use to believing. These are facts. Viwewer discretion, is advised =)

Although still very much on the surface of the control system, this has just enough to get those watching to ask the right questions.

Well-rounded, well-told, informative to the nth degree. I'm a history buff, and what you get from this presentation that you won't always is Stone's humanity and intellect. He is 100% invested in his vision of US history. And yeah, it might surprise some to know that the US wasn't the key player in the D-Day scenario as always shown on this side of the pond. Without Stalin, without Hitler's racial prejudices that prevented his own conquests in the end(ignoring the Japanese), we might be into a 2nd fascist century right now. 10/10

I don't mind digging into dark past for accurate information about your countries history. People should know the side that goes untold. That don't mean I'm not happy that my country will go to any length to stay on top.

Interesting series, tries to gives a more rounded perspective on war and politics, where things are never as clear cut and simple as the powers that be would like us to assume or believe. Definitely food for thought and worth a watch (check out the book that goes with the series, good complement).
