I made the mistake of watching this movie expecting to see some kind of storyline. Instead it was a -intelligent- movie that I would normally expect to see at a venue such as the Sundance film festival. Which is great, if that is what you're looking for, but don't expect a movie that has great explosions or is action packed. It is really a political/social commentary on the economy with a paper thin movie covering.

Undoubtedly gets in your face perverse portrait of management issues- it is sure-footed, dark and comic.

I get how some would be disappointed if expecting an action movie. You'll see gritty scenes, but this movie is a metaphor for the violence of American culture, with minions and soldiers doing the bidding of the powerful (who pull the strings but are never seen), while politicians distract the public with a never-ending deluge of empty, homogenized rhetoric. Money talks and bullshit walks, and how something is perceived is more important than the truth to those with the power of life and death in this tale. A dark and moody movie, with surprising cameos from A-list actors, and a great scene about two guys trying to set a car on fire. Just don't expect Bond or Rambo.

I thought this was an excellent film; though it isn't for most people. Brad Pitt did an exceptional job in making you wonder whether he was lying or not, which made the movie able to twist your perception of it easily. It isn't so much of an action film as I figured it would be, and is more about the story and dialogue. 7.5/10

Average flik except the final scene, which may be one of the greatest pieces of dialogue ever.

This movie has the best closing dialogue ever. True brilliance. The movie's about dialogue - listen to what is said - pay attention to the radio too.

Well, let's just say... this is not the movie for you if you are looking for a lot of action, you have to listen and concentrate on the dialog and the politics floating in the background. There is no fast paced stuff going on, they are explaining the larger picture of America and it's objectives and stuff in this world.

Considering the cast, it should have been better, special effects do not mean much, if they do not highlight the movie. The dialogue was drawn out to the point of slowing down, what could have been a very good film. Watch a movie, like Good Fellas and I believe you will agree

Enjoyable flick. The movie is def all about dialogue and story. The characters were all played well, especially Pitt, McNairy, Gandolfini, and Liotta. Great writing, all the actors had about the same screen time as Pitt and he didnt over shadow everyone. I liked how gritty and realistic they made it seem. Even if it was predictable, it was still a blast to watch. Had a great sound track as well. They seemed to use alot of practical effects, which I enjoyed. They used one slow mo CGI scene but it was very well done. But where the film shines is the dialogue, very well written, especially the end monologue by Pitt. However it did have some down sides. I feel like they rushed a few parts, I would have liked to have seen more of Gandolfini and his character. I also really got annoyed by all the political undertones. I mean its fine if you sprinkle stuff in here and there. But it seemed liked every TV, radio, and billboard had political stuff on them. It got old, fast. Def not for everyone, but its still worth a look. A 7/10 for me.

I could not appreciate the acting in this movie (which was excellent). The story was non-existent, I didn't care what happened to the characters, and I found every scene vulgar and gratuitous. What was the point of even making a film like this?? Sooooooooooo disappointing.

The background is more interesting than the foreground. Americans are slowly learning what Korean cinema, to take only one example, has been doing for awhile now:using political context to mirror the action and create depth. So, it's good but nothing transcendental. Watch Memories of Murder instead.
