GF made me watch but thought it was really good aussie drama. It's sort of confronting seeing as my parents were about that age at the time.

This is such a good show! I haven't read the book, but I liked the movie, and it was good, but this is so much better! Especially because Debbie is pretty much the main character and I pay a lot more attention to her than I did in the movie. Thank you everyone for uploading links to this awesome show!
