Norway Massacre: I Was There: On July 22, 2011, lone gunman Anders Behring Breivik emerges from a western Norwegian suburb to commit one of the worst terrorist atrocities in Europe since World War II. The massacre starts with an explosion in Oslo and finishes with the slaughter of dozens of teenagers at a youth camp on the isolated island of Utoya. But was Breivik a lone extremist or was this attack the first warning of a world terror?

Worth a mention that several local boats actually went out and started fishing up children who were trying to swim across, the boats and the people in them were also shot at. I wish they had included how the Norwegian people dealt with the tragedy, especially the rose march. Having the kids talk English in the reenactments just made them seem amature, especially when the delta unit that took Breivik spoke Norwegian.

What I don't realize is how this guy is NOT labeled a TERRORIST by the media. They call him an insane mentally ill mass murderer? OK... So the guys that did 911 were not mental, insane, mass murderes? This guy was terrorizing these people for 2 hours on that little Island. They have to live with that for the rest of their lives.

Norway has a maximum sentence of 21 years, but we have something called "forvaring". He will never get out!

Whilst part of this documentary is reconstructed, it does feature interviews with victims so there is first hand accounts of what happened. If you can take something from this, it will be learn from the mistakes, several mistakes were made by law enforcement and government services that could have prevented this from happening at all OR even worse more mistakes were made that could have at least saved the final 20 victims lives. Very very sad but we can learn from this so it deserves a one off viewing.
