National Geographic Jesus The Missing Years: While his birth, childhood, later years and death are all well documented in the gospels of the New Testament, a question mark continues to hang over how Jesus spent his time between the ages of 12 and 30. This baffling gap spans the period that stretches from his preaching in a temple as a young boy, right up to the point at which, as a grown man, he first met John the Baptist.
