Longmire: Widowed only a year, Longmire is man in psychic repair that buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. Struggling since his wife's death and at the urging of his daughter, Cady (Freeman), Longmire knows that the time has come to turn his life around. With the help of Vic (Sackhoff), a female deputy new to the department, he becomes reinvigorated about his job and committed to running for re-election. When Branch (Chase), an ambitious, young deputy decides to run against him for sheriff, Longmire feels betrayed but remains steadfast in his dedication to the community. Longmire often turns to close friend and confidant Henry Standing Bear (Diamond Phillips) for support as he sets out to rebuild both his personal and professional life, one step at a time.

TV GUIDE ''It's official! Longmire will rise from the dead to ride again. Netflix has picked up the previously canceled series for a 10-episode fourth season that's set to launch in 2015...''

This unexpectedly beautiful gem in the rough is so good that I began reading Craig Johnson's ''Longmire'' books. My goodness, they are as good as if not better than the show, and the show totally ROCKS! The casting is uncanny in capturing the sheriff, Ruby, Cady, and Turk (I presume to be Branch) and all the rest. Lou Diamond Phillips is PERFECTION as Henry Standing Bear. The Cheyenne/Crow ambiance and lore is priceless (''Absoroka'' means Crow in that language) and not a bad accomplishment for a transplanted West Virginia lad. I understand Johnson actually lives in Ucross, Wyoming, population about 25! LOL, sounds like Durant a bit to me. Sheriff Longmire reminds me a lot of Marshall Matt Dillon, transplanted through time to modern-day Wyoming. LOVE THIS SHOW!

I like this show so far. As a Texan there's a lot that resonates with me in the western tone of the show, especially the quiet strength of a frontier sheriff. They have picked out some very solid members for their cast and it's got a slow-build feel to it as a series. Exactly the type of show I enjoy most. 4/5 with a definite eye to see how it keeps going in seasons to come.

I just started watching this a couple of weeks ago and now I only have 1 episode left before I'm caught up. I was under the impression that this had been canceled but just found out that Netflix has saved it, which is awesome! Walt is now one of my favorite tv characters, I'm hoping Netflix keeps it for a few years.

I can't believe they canceled this mystery series! This was a great show. I heard it might be picked up again for a straight-to-internet series? There were 2 new books published this year for this series. Check out Craig Johnson.

''Longmire'' an utterly fabulous series, ended season three with a cliff-hanger and best rating EVER for A/E. What does A/E do? Why, hell, yeah -- they cancel the show like snotty jerks they are. CANCELED. A/E sucks.

Yet another great show bites the dust. Hopefully it will be picked up by another network, but the reasoning for it is a bit odd. They indicate that they (AandE) want 'in-house' shows and Longmire comes from an outside source. Google 'Longmire cancelled' for more info since I can't post any links.

This has quickly become my favorite show. Such an unusual "western sheriff show". The use of Rock music, well developed characters, and great plots makes for a very enjoyable TV show. Thanks for posting.

Starts off good and gets even better as it progresses. I love this show... it's very interesting and refreshing. I hope A&E keeps it up.

I just have to say that I am not a fan of westerns and I did not expect to enjoy this show I watched the first episode when I couldn't find anything else to watch. I am glad that I stumbled onto it, and would recommend that anyone who likes cop or crime type shows give it a try. In some weird way it reminds me a bit of the first season or so of Blue Heelers.

Yeah....liking this. Nice gentle country cop show that is well written and with good actors. A pleasant change from all the other bs cop shows.

This ain't too bad however, if it relies too heavily on crimes pertaining to women, I may loose interest. I do like the Native American aspect and hope to see more. Having the daughter in a clandestine relationship with pop's budding Nemesis, does border on the corny. (sorry if that's giving too much away folks. I'll lose some karma for that!) Longmire does lack a bit of humour, so if it wants a second season, it's gonna need some. I agree with tymack about the lack of techno gismo. A sheriff with no cell phone is ace. I also like the fact that we got some education here about Crow NA Indians. Culture is fascinating and this show's exploring some American cultures often ignored in US tv dramas. 3stars.
