At Night I Fly: In At Night I Fly: Images from New Folsom, inmates at one of California's most maximum security prisons let us see their world. This world is less about dangerous drama and more, as one of them describes, "about isolation. About closure of both the mind and the heart. And the spirit." The documentary shows prisoners, most serving a life sentence, who refuse such closure and instead work to uncover and express themselves. Their primary tool is making art and the film takes us to New Folsom's Arts in Corrections' room, to prison poetry readings, gospel choirs, blues guitar on the yard, and to many more scenes of creation.

How could someone say "a waste of film on nothing" about a documentary that portrays the struggle and pain of men? What were you expecting? A narrator with the voice of a "movie trailer guy" , flashy horrid scenes so you can feel alive? Haunting music behind every scene? This is a genuine documentary. Very objective and not made to recreate the masses. Thats why you didn't like it. People with empathy and humanness will be touched by this documentary and inspired even. To those people, I definitely recommend this documentary.

Those prison cells look EXACTLY like the government subsidized housing units where I come from; I swear you wouldn't be able to even tell them apart. Pretty messed up if you think about it...

Good doc. I noticed while they were all in that room, some inmate was sitting at the computer with headphones on, surfing the net.
