The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall: In 1986, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera arrived on the West End stage at Her Majesty's Theatre. Fast forward 25 years and Phantom has achieved global success, millions of viewers, a film adaptation in 2004 and a musical sequel. Now viewers have the chance to experience this phenomenal show right from their own screens. Filmed at the Royal Albert Hall, this stunning performance brings the show to a bigger stage and celebrates its role as one of the biggest shows in theatre history, with speeches, performances and appearances by the original cast and some of the show's most notable Phantoms, including John Owen Jones and Colm Wilkinson. Starring Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess, Phantom tells the story of a deformed musical genius who lives in the catacombs of the Paris Opera House. Shunned by society, the Phantom seeks revenge in cruel and often violent acts. The Phantom is in love with chorus girl Christine Daaé and has been secretly training her to replace La Carlotta as the opera's reigning diva. However, when Christine is thrust into the spotlight, she is also reunited with childhood friend Raoul. Passion, obsession and chaos ensue as Christine finds herself torn between her love for Raoul and her strange pull towards the mysterious and dangerous Phantom.

My personal favorite version of Phantom on this site. Not only are the Phantom and Christine well acted, but also remarkable are Raul, Andre, and Firmin, who are often a bit understated. All the actors bring distinct personality to their roles. Love this Carlotta.

This was wonderful to watch, I loved seeing the newer version of this musical. Amazing show, phenomenal singing and acting, the costumes and make up were excellent. Make sure you watch this until the end, so you won't miss the encore, which is really special.

Sierra Boggess is amazing as Christine Daae, one of the best I have ever seen, and her rendition of 'Wishing you were somehow here again' stole the show. Ramin is also a great Phantom! I thought he was exceptional. This show was phenomenal, and I would recommend this to EVERY Phantom fan! :)

This is simply amazing. I watched the movie adaptation a few years ago and liked it. But the stage version is breathtakingly beautiful and I love it!

Love this Opera, I saw it when I was younger in Toronto's The Pantages Theater , I have never forgot how it made me feel sitting in the audience and my heart jumping a beat every time Christine sang.

To make a correction on the performer list Micheal Crawford does not play in this production. This is the famed Phantom of the Opera, without Micheal Crawford and Sarah Brightman. Which is very noticeable within the singing.
