Catching Hell: When Chicagoan Steve Bartman fatefully deflected a foul ball in Game 6 of the 2003 NLCS, the city's long-suffering Cubs fans found someone new to blame for their cursed century without a World Series title. Director Alex Gibney explores the psychology of die-hard sports fans, the frightening phenomenon of scapegoating, and the hysteria that turned mild-mannered Bartman into the most hated man in Chicago.

I really feel for this guy, just doing what baseball fans do, reach out for a foul ball and he gets death threats, and has to go into hiding. As a baseball fan this whole thing makes me sick. However, great documentary on how it went down. 9/10

This movie made me laugh. Being a sports fan can get silly at times.

Excellent baseball documentary. Even if you are not a baseball fan you may still enjoy this as a study of how something so simple and innocent, that takes less than 5 seconds, can ruin your life.

Good Documentary.4/5 The mob mentality of the fans was wrong.A poor statement about humanity(an entire city) and the lack of compassion.

Unbelievable how sinful and hypocritical human nature is, then when you group 10,000X human natures all together into one place, you get a result consistent with that multiplication factor. Nothing has changed since the days of the Roman Coliseums. If you want to learn about fallen human nature, watch this documentary, it will help you understand what to expect as you walk through this world.

This is like a case study on all kinds of mob mentality. Don't be a typical sports fan, and just enjoy the game. And don't interfere! lol...

Marlins would have still beat them... that one mishap was no reason for the cubs to fall back from 3-0 to getting beat 4 straight games by florida! This game chicago was 3-2 ended up losing and getting beat the next game as well... Then the marlins ended up beating the ny yankees at n.y and winning the world series!
