Tsunami Caught on Camera: The Boxing Day Tsunami was the most devastating natural disaster in recorded history - almost 230,000 people were killed. And as the catastrophe unfolded, remarkable amateur video footage emerged. It was shot by people from all around the vast impact area and depicted the terror and chaos they experienced as the massive waves struck land. Now that footage will be collated into one film: a minute-by-minute account of the devastation, told by the people who were there. We will trace the disaster's terrible seven-hour timeline and massive geographic range, from the initial undersea earthquake, to the sweeping arc of destruction around the Indian Ocean, and the immediate and tragic aftermath.

Very shocking and graphic documentary. Nicely complied and the footage mainly used is 'real' video shot by people during tsunami, so watch it with your own strong heart. May all the victims RIP.

This was really heartbreaking for me. It left me crying and hit me with a dose of all those poor souls reality. I can't even imagine what they went through. Awww..Fredrik and the Peatfields. Great Documentary.

I cried during this and it was normal for me to, We all need to start educating ourselves on natural disasters more and cherish each breathe as if it were our last. One minute everything's cool and the next it can become chaos, i'll never forget that.

I shut this off about 2/3rds of the way through. The loss of life and misery was simply too much. People ask me why Im Agnostic and trouble believing in a God. This is exactly why. If this is in "his plan", he's has gone utterly insane.

so much pain and loss that day. i never knew just how bad till i saw this. i knew of the amount of lives lost but to see it from the eyes of those there has broken my heart. im still crying as im typing. i was brought up a christian but now as an adult seeing so much pain and loss i cant see how a so-called god would let so many children and people die for doing nothin. what did those 1/3, which are children, do to deserve a so-called "gods wrath." no loving or forgiving god would do something of this magnitude! no god would kill young children, babies, or other innocent people. this was an act of nature like every other tragedy and great people caught in its path. a must watch only for those, not like me, who feel too much to often. its only for those of strong will over emotions

Heart breaking is the only word that describes it for me. It made me think about my family and how lucky I really am. I don't think I could be as strong as those people who lost their children. I pray I never have to find out. God Bless all those souls, I hope their at peace.

This is one of those things you hear about in the news and you really don't think enough about it until you see a documentary like this, really opens your eyes and serves as a reminder of how fragile life is and how often we take things for granted. I'm glad I watched this.

This is a VERY profound documentary, it makes you really take a look at your life and wonder 'am I really being the best that I can be, is there more I could do to enjoy life, don't sweat the small stuff in life because life can be taken away from you in the blink of a second, etc?' It puts a lot of thing's in to perspective for you in your every day life. As hard as this is to watch, I think it was very well made and put together. Telling the stories of each little group of survivors you begin to emphasize for them, feeling their anquish and pain. There were moments where I had to try really hard not to cry throughout watching this.

My heart goes out to all the people that lost loved ones during that tsunami. The documentary was even more powerful because of all the footage used was from people that lived through it. Amazing and terrifying what nature is capable of doing. 10/10

A deeply moving moment, a sad moment yet a binding moment, in which for a moment I connected with those that were part of this event, and connected thus to my own humanity. A beautifully done documentary with a very emotive and carefully done soundtrack. In a way, one could be horrified at what happened, yet I cannot after seeing this documentary, help to feel a very rich connection to those people whom I don't know, yet feel like they're a sort of family of mine.

It's hard to describe the feelings you get watching the footage. Utter amazement at how quickly entire villages - men, women children, houses, cars, pets - everything can get vacuumed back into the sea. The rubble remaining looks like a panorama you might see at a rubbish/landfill site. The incoming wave is sort of hypnotic, you can see why many of the people filming were glued to the spot and mesmerized until danger was imminent.
