Excellent Romero flick, much better than the remake (although I enjoyed that as well). Something about the graininess and color film used in these old 70's movies just give some of them an added creepiness you don't feel with modern remakes. Remakes can be bloodier, or darker in theme and lighting, but...they just don't have the same feel, or even quality at times. This is worth a watch, especially if you saw the remake.

Strangely paced but nicely paranoid and clearly very angry towards the military. Watch if you liked Romero's Dead films and want to see some more.

Even with no ghouls, Romero exposes a nightmare.

Not the right music for the ending credits. Not. At. all. Other than that i thought it was well done and worth a watch if you're a thriller/Romero fan. Decent realistic thriller..

This time an okay movie by George A. Romero normally he has better movies. But still he has done its best on it, some moments were emotional. The acting was lesser then avarage, the story was good though. The remake is better but it's always funny to go back to the roots. However if you are a George A. Romero fan you have to see it, it's his early work. I give this movie a 6,5/10.

Richard France wins the prize for best portrayal of scientist who did something he shouldn't have. (great beard too) Its a little bit slow and a little bit annoying to see the reaction of the 'renegades' who although in a lethal situation decide its best to attack the army rather than just trying to leave... good one! Still not an ok flick but it shows its age.

Pretty good. Not exactly horror in my opinion. Still good to watch though, especially if you've watched the new one.

Another great movie that's recently been remade for a whole new generation of horror fans,7/10.

A little out dated with the fear of nuclear holocaust. The chaos is directed towards psychological madness rather than multiple violent outbursts from the remake. A genuine moment of helplessness may surprise you and remind you you're sane when you suddenly realise you've been unaffected watching people being innocently gunned down and burnt alive. It's a horror you won't concern yourself what until you think about what you've seen.

I must be crazy for watching something this obscure with all the more recent movies available. Sometimes you have to check out the pioneers in the field before all the newbies. Acting is average. Take a chance if you have the time......

I had to watch the old one before seeing the new one, and its sometimes quite the borefest. it looks like a southern commercial on acid. and the Military is so inept, its scary. I think putting large doses of lSD in the water would probable have the same effect on a town, so it would not be impossible for something like this to happen. Thats the only scary thing about the movie.
