Couldn't agree more with above comments. It is a great show. Brenda B is fantastic and totally believable as the emotionally stunted lead. And the countryside shots rival those from the Swedish Wallandar series ( the English version and the Swedish version). What a beautiful place! Keep up the good work and congrats on a great job!

Vera season 4 was excellent. Sadly I've watched all the episodes now. At least we were promised a return in 2015. Back to catching up on Endeavor. Anything new in Nordic noir?

This series has no equal.Filmed in Northumberland it has that grey gritty weather like the new scandanavian noir tv shows, except Vera is a Geordie :)

A quality crime drama series. Brenda Blethyn is brilliant as the slightly eccentric, flawed yet likeable Vera Stanhope, a realistic character, unlike the always artificially 'beautiful' and glamorous female detectives you see in most US crime shows. Definitely worth a watch.

I looked around and this is what I found regarding the 3rd episode: "Due to This Episode being about a murder of a soldier in Afghanistan, it will air after the series has finished, in Summer 2012. On 13th May 2012 ITV Confirmed after the recent news of the death of 2 British servicemen in Afghanistan, it was appropriate to put the episode on hold and air it later in 2012, to stop offence or misunderstanding. An episode of Lewis (TV series), "Wild Justice", was repeated in its place."
